Mecer 5 kva inverter not compatible with lithium battery

Morning

I have a 5 kVA inverter (model SOL-I-AX-5P) connected to a  FB-5100 First battery.

My problem is that the inverter does not fully charge the Lithium battery, my experience is that it only charge the battery to about 50%. In my opinion the inverter is not compatible with the lithium battery. During loadshedding after about an hour the inverter gives an error 4 message which says that the battery voltage is too low.

I did have 4 lead acid batteries before but it didn't last through the 1st stage 6 loadshedding we had in October 2022. So we replaced it with the lithium battery and since then our problems started with the inverter. The invereter would also just reset it self during loadshedding, thus switch off and restart again after about a minute.

I also don't see a lithium option at the battery option in the user manual

Please assist.

Regards

Marda

@Marda unfortunately there is no communication between the inverter and battery. You will need to use user defined settings in 05  and read the manual for the battery and set the inverter according to the manual it will have Bulk ,Float and low cut off. One important thing check your charge amps and make sure it set to battery specifications or there goes you warranty on the batt.Hope this helps you.

Send specs of lithium.

You will have to on battery type set user and set in the volts according to the lithium you using

If it's an 51.2 lithium you can set in in 53.6v on bulk and float charge but low cut of volts you must check the battery specs

What is the C rating of your battery? It could be that you are trying to pull too much current from the battery with a 5kVA inverter. You will need at least 2 batteries if they are rated at 0.5C or the BMS will shut down the battery due to high discharge current. With lead acid batteries you may not notice this as they will deliver whatever you ask, to the point of damaging themselves.
