Just my 2C it's good to have one of these the reason I say this is you can attach busbars directly to it and attach your batteries connector to them and if you have multiple packs it works great whe isolating.

@robert pendrell agree , there alot of installation that's done by one's self , sometimes buying a lithium battery is consider it as no warranty from purchase because there are so many exit doors for warranty cancelation its unbelievable and the best one is over voltage no inverter and BMS is calibrated 100% just my 2c

@Greglsh I did build my own with 19mm marine plywood. For compression i made a snug box and screwed the last panel on so its a tight fit with 8 x80 screws. As for the BMS i used the JBD 20s 500amp as they built solid I like the contactor. I would stick to the JBD bms they don't have active balancing I did however for another pack add a 10amp active balancer but later removed as they pack stayed at a 9mv deviation.

@DeonBez it's the JBD 20S 500amp. On the BMS 3.5 full cell voltage 56v pack voltage. 2.8V cut off voltage and 44.8 pack cut off. Inverter 54.5v on all but i think 54v is the sweet spot.

It's the JBD 20S 500amp configured 16S.

@babsPlease could you share a pick it sound like the battery is not charging each green LED represents 25% state of charge.

Just my 2c DIY is great and cheaper when I started of cells were alot cheaper but not readily available my first batch i almost lost my R16K on Alibaba. Them tried Shenzhen Basen with provided me with 48 x Leshen 272amp. Also have 32 EVE280 which is running quite well no active balancer and my latest experiment 16 x 184amp svolt blades which seem pretty good aswell. ALL cell using a JBD bms's coupled with a SunSynk 8kw.

@Bean what voltage are the batteries at. Secondly maybe try switching to agm voltage on batteries settings.

@_matt_ with regard to the battery shutdown that's good and you know the bms is doing its job. To resolve you can try to rebalance the pack or try to drop the charging rate when the battery hit around 90% SOC.

Hi All So I'm in Durban I have bought 12 400watt full black 144 cell panels from these guys. This was in 2020 they perform well I have 6 facing NE at 180degree another 6 also NE at 45 degree they produce around 4200w. I have see the produce thier Calimesa 4800watts aswell just my 2c. The reason I bought was the heavy courier charges back then from JHB and not alot of trusted places wanted to ship them.
