August 19, 20233 yr Hi everyone I have the mecer and RCT inverters 5KW each, connected in Parallel a few weeks ago I had to have the Mecer inverter repaired as just failed stopped working,since i got it back i just had problems,the firmware changed which meant they couldn't communicate took it to another place to up date the firmware now they do communicate but only the MS inverter give output.I have gone through all the wiring all is good.If i reset them and change the master to the other unit then it provides an output so it tells me mechanically all is good can still be software problems Please do you have any advice for me Thanks in advance Edited August 19, 20233 yr by Maanie
August 20, 20233 yr Can you remember what versions they were? What versions are they now (U1 main firmware versions)? Are they both in parallel mode? That is, one says HS (master) and the other SL (SLave)? Can you provide a photo of the output wiring? August 20, 20233 yr Author The one thats the master gives output only. The slave one only charges the batteries and every minute or so where is says SL ot goes to Ne for a second and back to SL again
August 22, 20233 yr You have a PF0.8 model and a PF1.0 model. These can't successfully be paralleled. I'm surprised that one doesn't stop with fault code 72. And that they don't blow up, despite the mismatches. You also have a 58.4 V model and a 64 V model; these can't be paralleled. You also have a mixture of patched firmware (72.70C) and non-patched firmware (74.40). You should not be paralleling that combination either. The patched firmware has to alter the meaning/interpretation of bit patterns in the CAN packets. The only thing in common between the two models is that they are Voltronic 5 kVA models. August 27, 20233 yr Author Thank you for the info. So best way forward would be to sell them separately and get a new 10KVA unit with BMS system. What brands should I be looking at any preference there,
