6.2kW Conderenergy vs 5.5kW Ecco vs 5kW Must

Featured Replies

I'm currently upgrading my 12v portable setup for a 48v db board setup & have narrowed it down to the 3 inverters mentioned in the subject line.

Anybody with experience on either of them? Pros & Cons?

Conderenergy 6.2kW Pros (R6200)

1. Price

2. Higher output (6.2kW)

3. Dual output power

Ecco 5.5kW Pros (R6850)

1. 5 year repair warranty

2. Connecting cables

MUST 5kW Pros (R6999)

1. Multiple communication ports (wifi + battery)

2. Parallel connectivity for possible future expansion.

Any guidance will be appreciated. UPS/battery will be used until I can add solar.

Hi,

Which of the valve brands / inverters did you end up going with. I am also considering between Ecco & Conder Energy.

Neither, my 12v setup still serving the loadshedding purpose until I save up enough to upgrade with solar panels

I have heard good things about the Conderenergy inverters, for their price.

I do not have any experience with them though and not sure if they have the necessary approvals for CoCT - which will likely carry through to other provinces.

AFAIK the Conderenergy should not be on the CoCT list as it is not a on grid inverter. It fall under the same banner as the Kodak, Axperts, and all the same type of operation and not on the list as they are off grid inverters.

The Kodak on the list are actually rebranded Solis 4g mini models painted yellow and grid tied(string)

Yeah, so all 3 of those inverters are not on the list of approved inverters for CoCT.

@Diby So if that is a consideration, then none are ideal.

However, if I had to choose between those 2 inverters I'd go for the Conder Energy based on what I have heard about them.

As long as one is aware of the fact that the Conderenergy is stated to either use the WiFi dongle or comms to battery and never both at the same time. This from a post a few weeks ago.

I see it more as a cheaper inverter which falls into the "set and forget" category.

Its not really for someone who wants to tinker and play around continuously, I think a LuxPower, Solis or Deye would be the better option then. They can all be integrated into Home Assistant too for more tinkering fun.

i see it the other way round

ie the hybrid inverters you can set and forget and it will blend eskom and solar when battery hits x SOC you have set

while the off-grid  axpert types means you have to play around with switching UTI/SBU since only some can blend

unless you have enough battery power to essentially go mostly of grid, which is often not the case ie those going for the cheaper axpert options tend to have lower battery capacity

Solarassistant can help make it a set and forget, then it will command the inverter to switch back and forth as needed, solar assistant allows you to pull data from axpeert types into homeassistant and can also give commands on certain things to the inverter via solarassistant pi

allowing remote management , and the data is realtime not the crap of 5min with sunsynk or other cloud setups

if/when i buy a sunsynk i would still do the pi realtime data route

Just my tuppence worth, nearly 4 years ago I invested in a system comprised of a Kodak 7.5 inverter “ not the cheapest either “ 14 panels and two Freedom Won 5/4 batteries..a year ago approximately I went to visit family in CT and on my return found the Kodak had died on me with the obvious results of everything in freezer being not toast..🙈 getting the agents to honor the warranty was so frustrating that I gave up and opted to have a Sunsynk 8kw installed ..not cheap but has a lot more going for it..if it goes down Eskom will automatically be switched in to save the day so to speak..however I’m not a very trusting person so I have a gadget called SimPal which has a SIM card it gets plugged in to any plug in the house and will send a sms “ power lost “ or “ power restored “ whichever the case is and then I can call in the troops who have access to my home to sort it out.

I very seldom leave my inverter running if I'm away for a week or 2 but if there power failure for longer than a day there is at least someone  close that can switch the system on so the fridges can run .

What I do have is CCTV and 4 WiFi cameras running connected to my WiFi so if power is off cameras will be off so easy to see if there's power or not
