December 4, 20232 yr I hope someone will be able to help. I want to make use of a 4 pole MCB with overcurrent protection to split my DB board into non-essentials, and secondary DB. The secondary DB will feed power to the inverter, and also to non-essentials if the inverter is out of commission. Can I do it the way I indicated in the picture below, or will I have to make another plan. The reason for doing it this way is to not having a double 16mm2 cable to feed the sub DB and Non-essentials on the outlets of a 2-pole MCB. On the SPD however, I will have to double up on the 16mm2 cable to feed into the Earth leakage.

Looking at your graphic you will still have 2 wires on the L and N top left when you add the bridge. All MCBs have over current protection. Isolators don't have. Good evening @Janosh I have read what you have posted and I have the following questions: A] Is the sketch that you posted the only DB currently installed? B] Do you have the SPD or must the SPD be purchased? Kind Regards GerhardK83
December 4, 20232 yr If the aim is to use 1 double pole Mcb for 2 seperate db board it is not allowed. Each seperate db board needs it own disconnect switch in the case of emergency. 6.6 Distribution boards NOTE This clause describes the minimum safety requirements for the construction and installation of distribution boards. The symbols to be used in distribution boards are stipulated in annex N. 6.6.1 General 6.6.1.1 Each distribution board shall be controlled by a switch-disconnector

Is this correct?

Is this correct? Correct as long as you have a seperate switch disconnect for the sub db labeled "Main Switch" your labelling on both db' are also crucial as incorrect labelling will not pass a COC. Below sub db labelling that was done slightly overboard but you sure know which curcuits are which 😅

No, they won't, as I will bridge these with a bus bar. The only one that will have a double cable is the SPD.
