Solar Garden Feature Pump

Featured Replies

Dear all

Hope well. I am spending time with my in laws, We really need some advice regarding a solar pump for the water feature. Pictures attached.

I was bragging about the forum and explaining how we will find the correct advice on the forum. Would really love to fix this. Its for the in laws so hope you can feel my urgency to sort it :> haha There are options on take a lot but do not seam too great. From what I can see the submersible pump would need a inlet filter. My skills are limited.

Thanks so much guys. Very relaxing in the karoo. Hope you all well.

Sincerely

Jason

The water house brand pumps seam to receive bad user reviews on take a lot.

I could only find two reviews (might be looking in the wrong place). 1 review for Takelots service and the second for the pump.

If i understand the guy correctly he ordered two other pumps with the same specs, returned them and he finds the Waterhouse pumps to be superior in every aspect.

Jaco how will it fair with the debris in the water?

The pond pumps i have work with had filters to filter out the bigger particles. I use to clean the filter every few months. The pumps on this site looks pretty much the same as the one's i am familiar with, so i guess it will do the same.

Are there any pumps on ebay that one would recommend that can handle the debris in the water? Looking at all the options.

Thanks Guys

Jay

The waterhouse pumps are good.

Almost all pond / water feature pumps have a filter "layer" just inside the housing that works pretty well in keeping debris away from the impeller. It just needs to be cleaned often enough ( every 3 months depending on state of water)

Just ensure you pick a pump that can handle the height of the water feature.

Oh and very important, you must choose a pump that can run continuously.
