Charge Amps

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

I have a 8kVa Sunsynk and 3 Revov R100 batteries.

My current charge amps is 40A and discharge amps 75A

Is this the correct setting or must it be higher to charge 3 batteries?

Thanks in advance

I'd say first check the Li-BMS screen to see if there are values being communicated via the BMS, and use those as benchmark.

On the understanding that there's nothing wrong with the installation and the wiring supports it.

Otherwise set the charge amps at 3x40A=120A. And the discharge amps, suggestion is 180A, which is just inside the inverter's limit of 190A. Also it's 3  times the recommended discharge of 60A, as per this link https://revov.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/R100_SpecsheetV3.pdf.

Thank you please see below I do not understand everything yet

The battery's management system is communicating to the inverter that the three batteries combined can accept a charge current up to a limit of 240A, and discharge up to 240A.

This is above the capabilities of the inverter, which is 190A.

In any case I'd suggest to keep to the recommended values on the spec sheet from Revov. Which is to say, only charge at 40A per battery (120A) in order to prolong the battery life. Full charge will take approx 2.5hrs at that rate, eg. when charging from grid. No real reason to push it harder, when a faster charge will only risk reducing the battery iife, and I don't see it's really necessary.

Also, it suggests don't discharge more than 60A per battery. I think there might be more than one spec sheet version, and I'm not sure which one says what, you might have one that says it's a 75A discharge per battery. But since the inverter can only do up to 190A max, I'm suggesting 180A anyway.

Hope this makes sense. Always open to alternative opinions.

Thank you so much I will keep under spec as do not need to charge at those rates.

Will up the charge on the inverter to 60A and Discharge to 100A that is more than enough for my needs.
