5.4 Neutral to earth bonding when forming an intentional island 
5.4.1 To prevent a SSEG neutral connection to the the utility neutral through an earth conductor when 
the SDU opens, the SSEG shall not have a permanent neutral bonding to earth.
5.4.2 A hybrid system intended to form an intentional island on the load side during utility supply 
interruption shall open the SDU to prevent unintentional island on the utility side.
5.4.3 Since the SDU opens the neutral on the utility side, the intentional island neutral shall be bonded 
to earth within 200 ms after the SDU operation using a neutral to earth bonding unit (NEB).
5.4.4 The NEB shall open within a time period of 200 ms before the SDU reconnects the inverter to 
the utility supply.
5.4.5 The NEB shall consist of an electromechanical switching device rated at the nominal current 
rating of the inverter.

Thanks for this @TaliaB hopefully now the confusion between permanent and non permanent bond will be put to rest. Any IE or ME worth their salt would have known that an TNS are not to be converted to an TNC earthing arrangement after point on control,it is for years been the case and was always stipulated by Sans 10142-1.

Now that the writing is on the wall for all installers and electricians, hopefully all the installations in the past with permanent bonds will be rectified by these installers and not just left as is. I would urge owners of systems that are aware that a permanent bond exist to contact their installers and demand that it be rectified as the coc issued won't be worth the paper is written on.

May be we can re-visit this topic of 21 Feb 2024 and link to this topic. 

I am just very bad at searching 🤔. 

Throughout the document where SANS/IECxxxx references appear, this implies equivalencybetween the two standards.

Does this mean, if an inverter not on one of rediculously restrictive approval lists such as the COC one, can be used so long as it has IEC 62109-1 and 2 certification?
