BSL with presumably a PACE BMS - funny values...

Featured Replies

I wonder if anyone out there has looked at their BSL/PACE BMS settings and seen some funnies... like OVP at 3.90V etc. I never had the connection to look at the settings, but made up a cable last night and what I am seeing is rather disturbing... if these are the default values for these batteries...

That is the default values. I've seen batteries that reached those alarms a couple of times at the start of commissioning and they are still in daily use after many years. It seems like the cells they use are quite robust (if you exclude the 125Ah).

(Go look at the logs, there is a good chance that you also had OVP events when your battery was new.)

unfortunately my logs don't go back that far, I guess they have to treat these cells this way, with the piddlin' poor performance of the passive balance circuitry...
