January 4, 20251 yr Okay so..... My wife by accident plugged the inverter in with the house power still on, well it caused a black out.... On the inverter it says E4 (Fivestar 1000w) What I basically want to know is, is my inverter done for it or can I save it and how?

The word "plugged" seems to tell me that your wife plugged the inverter output into one of the electrical sockets in the house while the grid supply was still present?
January 5, 20251 yr Suicide plug setup & the power was still on & the inverter was plugged in. Meaning a short circuit occured...

According to the Fivestar "features" it has short circuit protection, maybe it is just a fuse? Get a qualified person to open and confirm.
January 6, 20251 yr @GavMich267You would be extremely lucky if only the fuse has blown most probably the output stage of the inverter is fried. This was an extremely hazardous incident that could cause the inverter to burst into flames and burn your house down imagine low impedance grid vs 1000w inverter. Good reason why a transfer switch is used between inverter output and grid. I seen this happen to a generator that burst into flames the power head was completely blown off before the grid mcb tripped.
