Used the .28 remote display firmware update tool - this is what happened:

Same process worked flawlessly on my other identical Kodak.

Display is now dead (inverter is still on) and inverter wont talk to Watchpower either.

Any advice please?

Were the firmware versions of the two kodaks the same before flashing? Voltronics did change the microcontroller several years ago if memory serves correctly and if you use the wrong version of firmware it will do this. I had this situation happen and it is recoverable by starting the flashing procedure with the correct firmware when the inverter is starting up.

I ended up powering down and disconnecting everything, and then powering up the inverter with AC only. Restarted PC as well. MCU firmware updated successfully after this.

Same story with main DSP firmware flash - failed two times and left me with a "32" warning on the inverter and no response. I had none of these issues with the other inverter. Seems best is to just keep trying, restarting inverter and PC etc. until it works.

All working now, thankfully.
