  1. Thanks Coulomb, never a dull moment with these things. I bought it as a spare, I already have 2 x 7.2 Kodaks (on display 12.28 and main firmware 69.70) successfully running in parallel. Wanted to flash this one to the same firmware and settings and put it in storage for a quick change over if needed in future. I successfully flashed the display firmware to 12.28 so the coms to the display is not the issue. Maybe between display and main board? It makes a funny screeching sound when you try to flash the main firmware, and flashes 32 on the screen. Might just sell it on now and look for a 69.xx later.
  2. Have tried 69.62 and 69.70 but the flash does not run: Need to parallel it with another 7.2 that has 69.70 firmware, is this possible?
  3. Thanks Shadders, much appreciated. I ended up powering down and disconnecting everything, and then powering up the inverter with AC only. Restarted PC as well. MCU firmware updated successfully after this. Same story with main DSP firmware flash - failed two times and left me with a "32" warning on the inverter and no response. I had none of these issues with the other inverter. Seems best is to just keep trying, restarting inverter and PC etc. until it works. All working now, thankfully.
  4. Used the .28 remote display firmware update tool - this is what happened: Same process worked flawlessly on my other identical Kodak. Display is now dead (inverter is still on) and inverter wont talk to Watchpower either. Any advice please?
  5. Thank you @Coulomb and @Shadders. Can confirm that this works on my Kodak 7.2 kW by following Shadders PDF and using the communication tool link in the same doc.
  6. I'm busy with a parallel installation with two of these - so far just connected to the batteries via a bus bar. Communiaction and current sharing cables not installed yet and PAL setting not activated. Voltage reading at terminals for both inverters are 52.6 V via a multimeter, but one inverter reads 53.0 V and the other 52.1 V. I'm suspecting that this will cause an issue once I activate the parallel settings. Anyone have guidance for calibrating these inverters - the manual seems to refer to such a possibilty. Much appreciated in advance!
  7. Thank you, so I can surface fix it with those nail cip thingies? What about my DC PV and battery cables? Do they need to run in conduit/trays to the bus bar/fuses/inverter?
  8. I have a small dedicated room where I'll be installing my inverters. If I use flat-twin-earth cable to connect the inverters with the DB's and main house DB, does it still need to be in trunking inside this room? Seems very unnecesarry as it is allready double insulated.
  9. This is good news, thank you. I've not read up about the "stuck at 90V" issue. What is the summary? The Kodak is on 69.01 and 12.21 currently - haven't re-flashed it yet - and it runs very well (about 12 months now). Have not connected the Synapse yet - but have flashed it to 43.13 and 12.28.
  10. Thank you, will give it a go, hopefully they can talk to each other. I've got all the parallel cables etc. One is a Synapse and the other a Kodak - my supplier is Facebook Marketplace...
  11. Wiring diagrams is not something I do on a day to day basis - please excuse amateurish sketch attached here. The tank level switch closes the circuit when water is below its level - opens when tank is full. The level switch can be flipped up or down depending on your preference - creating a NO (normally open) or NC (normally closed) switch - quite nifty. The way mine is wired is so that relay will be switched off when the signal wire to level switch is damaged or opened - its over 50 m from relay to tank. You can wire it the other way around as well - switch NO and then use the NO contact on the 220V side of the relay. The relay and Sonoff switch is in series - but the Sonoff needs to be closest to the breaker otherwise you will have connectivity issues as it will switch on and off all the time.
  12. Thank you, appreciated! My one inverter is 69.xx and the other 45.xx. Assuming the DSP firmware is not cross-compatible? Cant load the 45.xx onto the one with 69.xx? Not good news - I was hoping to connect them in parallel.... Is this still possible?
  13. Anyone know which are the latest main and DSP firmware for the 7.2 kW version? And where to download them?
  14. Very similar requirements to what I have, I have gone with the following. Everything runs of the inverter/solar setup. 550W borehole pump directly to 2050L Eco tank. Note that it actually draws closer to 1100W in use. 550W is the mechanical output after losses. https://hurricanepumps.co.za/product/4sd2-11pmsc-borehole-pump-complete-220v-0-55kw-standard-control-box/ Small float switch wired in with relay to switch off borehole pump when tank is full. This relay is wired in series with a Sonoff Wifi switch to achieve two things: 1. Only run borehole pump during solar generation hours. 2. My borehole runs dry in 20 minutes - so pump is cycled on for 15 min and rests for 25 min. If I just leave it on it will burn when hole runs dry. https://www.robotics.org.za/FLOAT-PP-A https://www.communica.co.za/products/hkd-relay-board-1ch-5v-30a-h-dut?utm_source=www.communica.co.za&variant=40357296734281&sfdr_ptcid=31591_617_693003716&sfdr_hash=819ef32481f79b959895de61be7a55c8&gad_source=4&gclid=Cj0KCQiAoae5BhCNARIsADVLzZdNzgAr7UZ2BPZbA28jL6Hv6LK4YEbmwNTnQgYTGR-SRk0JUR4zm2YaAg1KEALw_wcB https://www.communica.co.za/products/sonoff-basicr2-wifi-smart-switch?utm_source=www.communica.co.za&variant=17568103727177&sfdr_ptcid=31591_617_495141755&sfdr_hash=16cc81e0e522b4c961daa757b77dd394&gad_source=4&gclid=Cj0KCQiAoae5BhCNARIsADVLzZefdr6bzPUVEQ0JmaxiJpcAtwZ6ivmIP-kn5nLtIMbucxsIEWh0T1IaAgwnEALw_wcB Trade Professional VSD Pump to supply water from tank to house and garden. 15. Hi Everyone I'm looking for two sets of parallel cables for these type of inverters - someone must have some taking up cupboard space. I'm in Randburg, but can arrange Courier Guy or Pudo collection from you. Pieter - 068 541 0462
  16. Random combination, I know. Trying to help friends get the BMS between these two running, not sure if even possible. Everything worked fine without BMS until a multi-day power failure recently, now inverter does not want to charge battery anymore. Have searched webs without luck for the correct cable pinout, would apprecate help if someone knows.
  17. Managed to flash display firmware this morning, BMS all working as it should now. My computer has a serial port so I could connect to the RJ45 on display directly with the Kodak RJ45-to-serial cable without using the serial-to-USB adaptor. Cant say thanks enough @Coulomb. Before this I contacted @SEGEN SOLAR via email but they were unwilling to help me with firmware as I was not the original owner of the inverter. Which makes no sense unfortunately, that's like taking your used BMW to the dealer and them being unwilling to support. Pinout for OG7.2 to BL3.6 BMS cable is the same as for OG5.48 to BL3.6. Battery type set to PYL and pinout as follows: Inverter 5 to battery 7. Inverter 3 to battery 8. Cable can be made up by cutting and splicing, you dont need a crimping tool.
  18. Thank you @Coulomb, much appreciated. Will try it this weekend and report back.
  19. Also need firmware for this same inverter, hope someone can assit.
  20. Found this PDF guideline and I'm 99% sure that my BMS cable is correct, same as on page 5. Segen solar used to post a link here to firmware database, see it doesnt work anymore? Anyone have a new link? KodakPylonApplicationNote.pdf
  21. Anyone have the correct pinout for this application? Have tried all the combos I could find on the forum, still getting error 61. Might be a firmware issue, anyone have the latest firmware for this unit? This is the firmware I have at the moment: Thanks in advance!
  22. I have the same problem, my inverter is second hand so watchpower says PN is allready in use. Did you manage to resolve this?
  23. Will do, but suspect the problem is that I now need a different config cable.
  24. Ok, have upgraded to a Kodak 7.2. Running everything bar the stove off the inverter. Have the geysers and swimming pool pump running on wifi switches so they do not switch on at the same time. The BMS cable I used for the OG5.48 to Kodak BL3.6 battery does not work anymore, I get error 61. Anyone have the pinouts for Kodak 7.2 to BL3.6 bms cable?
  25. Considering the OG 7. 2 as mentioned above.
