Good Day All

I need some advice please

I have 2 x Deye 5kw inverters in parallell

The ct clamp is o the master as per manual and the arrow in the direction to the grid.

My question is...why is my slave inverter constanly feeding power back into the grid? About 200-300W

The setting is zero export to ct.

Both have the same firmware also.

Only the Master Knows About the CT

CT clamp connects only to the master, which is correct. However, the slave must be configured to follow the master’s export limit settings. On the slave inverter, the export control should still be enabled, but its source must be set to "Zero Export to CT" Double-check that the "Limit export power" setting is enabled on both inverters and that "Meter type" is set to "CT" on the master only.

OR

Ensure proper parallel communication wiring. RS485 communication cables must connect the inverters in the correct A-B-A-B daisy chain. The master inverter should be set as parallel ID 1, and the slave as ID 2. A break or miswire in this link can cause the slave not to receive the CT feedback data from the master.

Hi..the Id's are set correct

Both is seeing the ct clamp if I check the images?

Where do I set the meter settings and limit export power?

The ct is wired according to the manual...pin 3 and 4 and white left black right

Also make sure the CT is clamped to the grid live wire that feeds BOTH units. It won't function correctly if it's only clamped to the master's incoming feed.

Some manuals have the direction wrong. If sticking to the colours then the arrow must point towards the inverter or in other words arrow towards the UPS load.

On the Solis the arrow points towards the grid.

I clamped it to the main incoming from the councel, If I understand you correctly I should basically clamp it @ the bottom of the breaker live that feeds the inverter input?

If you clamp the main grid live wire (red) from the council, it's correct. Do NOT clamp it to only ONE of the inverters incoming feeds, since then it'll only measure half of the power consumed by the two units.

And even worse it won't measure the non essential power that feeds loads like a stove or geyser as it prevents export.

You want the CT between the munic and your main DB incoming supply to only block power back to the munic if you don't export.

Hi I did put my CT on my inverters incoming power with the arrow facing towards the inverters.

It works good now, I dont want to power back to the non essentials....so it works the way I want it to now.

My second problem.

My pv only goes to the main inverter

Both is set to time table settings and both is on load first.

Problem is the second inverter still pull half the load from the batteries whhle the master tries to charge it from pv.

Is there a way to make the second 1 use the grid as supply and not the batteries during the day when the master charges it...cause they are basicalle working agains each other in the charging sense.

Have you activated your timer with a high SOC value. This might help to use grid to keep the battery at this high level. Not sure if it will use grid and not PV as you want. My single unit uses PV for all loads and not grid as you require and grid when the load exceeds the PV production only if my battery SOC is set to a high level.

Do you mean your PV is only physically connected to the master? Or do you mean only the master is pulling power from the PV connected to it and the slave is not pulling power from its PV?

If it's the first scenario, your slave will get power via the batteries. You can try changing the priority setting to battery first. Maybe the slave will then pull from the grid instead. Either way, power from the batteries is still cheaper than power from the grid.

PS: the master and slave will share settings so any setting you change on one unit will replicate to the other unit after a few seconds. At least, that's what happens on my Sunsynk units which are based on Deye hardware.

Set different time-of-use profiles for the slave inverter (Inverter 2) than the master:

On the slave inverter: Set daytime hours (e.g. 8:00–17:00) to "Grid First" set night-time to "Load First" or "Battery First" as needed.

This ensures Inverter 2 does not use battery during PV hours.

While we wait for a reply I can but in and say I have my Deye set NOT to export to load as per the picture. This prevent selling to the grid.

Solar sell could be the setting you looking for. In my case to prevent export my limit to load is not ticked. Also Solar selling is not ticked. This was given to me by one on our very clever members when my Deye was exporting when the battery was fully charged.

I am sure you will get a reply as requested.

@Hlokohloko Do you have the installer password? You will need it to access the advanced menu.

On Deye hybrid inverters, export control is managed through the Advanced Settings menu ( installer password). To prevent grid export, go to:Settings : Advanced Settings :Power Setting : Limit Export Power, and enable it on the master inverter only (set Meter Type = CT under Meter Setting). The slave inverter should have both options disabled.

In addition, under Advanced Settings : Grid Setting, ensure that “Solar Sell” is unticked. This setting allows intentional export when the battery is full; disabling it prevents feed-in even if PV generation exceeds local consumption.

Some installers also leave “Limit to Load” unticked for stable operation. Together, these settings ensure a proper zero-export configuration while maintaining normal load and battery operation.

Do you have the installer password as you would need it to access advance settings otherwise you can try to use password 0715
