I currently have 2 x 8kVA Five Star inverters connected in parallel. I want to add a 3rd but struggle to find the same inverter model.

Will I be able to add another Five Star 8kva inverter in parallel with the current 2 if the models differ? See pics.

Ideally you need identical inverters, and all the inverters need to have the same firmware version.

That's how I also know it but now to find the same inverters is causing me headache.

That's not actually true, although that is the ideal situation. It's best if you know that the dates that the two firmwares were released is close, say within 30 days. This is knowable for many Voltronic firmwares, but few if any clone firmwares (if indeed the cloners write their own firmware). That way you can parallel a model with different DSP chips (say '2809 and '28066), for example.

Certainly for non-Voltronic firmwares, I'd want to see at the very least the same first two digits of version numbers the same, if the numbering is Voltronic-like. For example versions 78.06 and 78.62.

Alas, getting such information from a seller before you buy it could be difficult. Yet for paralleling purposes, this is vital information.

It looks like they've just refreshed the case and the display, but who knows if it's compatible inside.

Can the seller of your first two inverters help? Or perhaps Fivestar in Germany? It's not an unreasonable expectation to be able to parallel another inverter at a later date.
