R10k+ ... because when they open the board, there is going to be something wrong. I swear. Have THAT T-shirt now too. Earthing was a problem.

Flip side, if all is fine, in-out-CoC in hand, between R2500 and R3500 - depending on the hourly rate.

In my experience, I have always found a reason for wishing the big one I installed was even bigger.

I think that is most peoples' opinion.

So if it's a new DB, go big, and then add a bit more space.

At least twice as big as the size that you think that could contain everything you will need.

we always start with a 18 way as the price difference between 18 and 12 isnt that much considering the capacity to expand later.

Its a new DB.

This and add plenty of spare coduit pipes up to the ceiling ,

agree. When I build my house 4 years ago I thought the 60 way (3 x 20) Samite board would be more than big enough. It is already to small☹️. 

And 25mm conduit going up and out preferably. With a larger DB the conduconduits fill up quickly with all the cables

In addition to size the design (as I have learned the hard way) is also very important. To remove the frame of my Samite board is such a disaster that I have nightmares about it.

depends on the loads but typically we use:

2x 20A for plugs
1x 10A for lights
1 40A mains breaker
as a standard i run a dinrail mount 30A contactor in the db to switch to these priority loads for solar.  that is just me
Cost for all the above we supply pre-wired for R3500.   Have supplied plenty already across Josie.
