January 5Jan 5 I have a Kodak 6.2kw inverter12 x 460w JA Solar panels2 x 5.1kwh Batteries (I was probably scammed with this, because with more knowledge now, it appears to be privately constructed batteries with no BMS Battery Management System or Battery Monitor System)Safety features were added by another/new installer (Fuses between panels and inverter, fuses between batteries and inverter, earthing rods installed) after the original installer went MIAHowever, my solar system has been running fairly well for 2+ years now (Geyser, stove and oven runs straight from Eskom)I have, in the recent 2 weeks, installed an inverter pool heat pump that is using anything from 0.3 to 2.8kw. Together with the pool pump, the pool heating can use up to 3.9 to 4kw, therefore I need to upgrade/add solar generated electricity.I have come across an advert from Kalipo Holdings (Pty) Ltd on FB which offers the following:R39,9501 x 8.2kw Hybrid Inverter1 x 5.1kWh Lithium Battery6 x 550w Canadian Solar PanelAll installation AccessoriesFull Installation & COC+27794545717I would like to have members' input on whether this sounds like a good deal. Can the two systems run combined to an "inverter' that can handle 14.4kw?Can the 8.2kw be installed as a separate system not connected to Eskom at all to power the pool heating and geyser (and possibly the stove and oven)?Does anybody know Kalipo Holdings and give me a review on them? I don't find Kalipo Holdings or any review/reference on them on the internet (Google).Apolgies for the long essay. Thank you in advance. Inverter ~10K( Budget option maybe)Lfp 5kwh battery( ~15K)6 x 550w Canadian panels ( 10k)Do the math's 😡
February 9Feb 9 But at those prices it can be done , was given references to call , no upfront payment until install is complete had a guy who wants to install a ecco system for 90k and he is making 50k on the install makes no sense right. spoke to him and they will install a Deye system for 60k no payment needed
February 19Feb 19 Kalipo holdings installed solar system for me December. 7 panels, 2 batteries etc for R70.000. System is working well so far.Deye inverter and batteries. My problem with them is that the person who installed it did not follow my instructions. I said everything must run off the solar system. That is geyser, stove etc. He decided to exclude the oven.My stove is gas so it is only the oven. We are pensioners and are at home most of the time so we can manage usage and restrict usage of the oven and geyser for when the batteries are fully charged. They forwarded me a COC issued by somebody apparently working independently for them. This person never inspected the installation. He made mistakes on the form. Name was left out at one section, id number quoted incorrectly. He ticked the box confirming that all switches on the two DB boards were marked which is not the case.I do not get any assistance from Kalipo Holdings to rectify this.So your choice but looks like after sale service is poor and the person they used for the COC is not competant.
