Hail in Brakpan

Featured Replies

Yesterday's hail in Brakpan, killed 4 evacuated tubes on my solar geyser, 14 on a friends geyser, but no damage to my solar panels. I went up on the roof this morning, expecting some serious damage to the panels, but fortunately nothing. My aircon split unit was pummelled to bits, the neighbour has no whole windows on the one side of his house. Hail as large as chicken eggs and no damage to the solar panels? I'm impressed.

Thanks for the update.

Was going to ask this question this morning but time ran away with me.  Feel for you guys up there... Having a very mild spring so far in the Eastern Cape.

We had a hailstorm last year that broke 134 window panes here on the farm. The PV panels attached to a solar pump and in their summer tilt elevation (nearly flat) survived. I was impressed too. I had PG Glass phoning me asking to come and quote. I had to ask them to be patient as I first had to rebuild sections of our road before they could come.
