for all the IoT guys - new Pi4

Gaaah! That will likely require that I purchase one and make Venus work on it again. Cause it's never just a straight swap.

(Usually it only requires a new bootloader). Sometimes it needs a different device tree overlay, and this in turn needs changes to config.txt.

Long long time ago when Rpi was a hot topic on the forum I got a 10" tablet new for a lot less than a Pi with a screen, kbd, mouse, backup battery and all that.

Because when the Pi's where running, and you switch off the inverter, the Pi went off, with the resultant effects.

And the SD cards and all those discussions.

Get a small tablet and use Chrome on it to view what you want to see maybe?

Pi's are synonymous with heartburn.

Thanks this seems a little easier!

@Mstott, in the pictures I recall seeing both a Venus-GX and another LCD above it. I know the SolarMD guys have their own control system. My assumption was that they made theirs talk to the Venus-GX (probably over modbus-tcp). Have I got that about right?

Yes @plonkster this is their logger v2 it communicates with their battery and the Venus using canbus. This also allows for web interface 790286788_Screenshot_20190528-192734_SamsungInternet.thumb.jpg.a96f1eddfbc3a92e1bcad80a9094423d.jpg
