Lithiumm battery continuous cycling of 1 %

Hi all, I have a question. My Leoch 48 V lithium battery seems to cycle about 1 % while electricity supply is on. It will charge up to full (100 % and 108.2 Ah on the BMS) I then see the BMS will allow the battery to discharge at a rate of 0.83 A for approx. 1 % of SOC. The inverter reads the correct voltage from the battery and shows it decreasing. My inverter float charge is set to 51.7 but it appears the bms allows votlage to drop below this. Then at about 99 % SOC, the battery starts charging again up to 100 % before starting a discharge. Is this normal ? Is the BMS cycling the battery to avoid float charge ie it would rather cycle 1 % than sit permanently on float ?

Is this the same Leoach shown on Carte Blache? I am just asking as the name has become taboo locally.

Yeah, the official importer of this battery only supplies them to mobile operators, and with the exception of a tiny amount of batteries imported by others (so I am told), any Leoch battery that made its way into a solar system is a stolen battery. That means that expertise on this battery is non-existent in this country... cause nobody runs these batteries, not legally anyway.

Somerset West... my valley 🙂

It looks like he has the original packaging too. As I said, I heard that a small number was privately imported directly from China through some or other means. Unfortunately it has gained a rather negative rep due to the Carte Blanche story, so now nobody will touch them.

Nicely spotted, that's what got my attention, and i don't see any marks on it. I hope his got all his papers in order because some investigator will be at his front door knocking.

At some point these things are going to get re-cycled and second-lifed... that's going to be interesting!

(Suddenly nobody wants any old MTN batteries... no! go away! recycle your own stuff we don't want no trouble! 😛 ).
