Hi first time post on forum ,I have problem with a new Axpert VM lll 3000 24 it will not charge of some genarators , It see the AC but will not go to bypass or charge ,iv read about this issue on the forums  about this with  older models ,as it still not been resoved ? is it the firmware !

Genarators tested with

Diesel SDMO 11kva AVR works ok

Diesel lombardini 8kva capasitor works ok

petrol Hyumdia 8kva AVA not charging ( Brand New 3 hr on clock )

petrol Honda 4kva capsaitor not charging

petrol Genergy 6.5kva AVR not charging ( Brand new )

All the above work fine when put on my outback VFX 3024 E so I conclude that it must be the Axpert inverter

It's well known that the Axperts are picky about generator output quality. It seems that unless you have an inverter-based generator, then it's just luck whether it will work or not.

The Axperts insist on phase synchronising the inverter output to the AC input; perhaps the Outback model you mention doesn't try to do that, and hence doesn't care about the quality.

Is that true even for the King?  It is understandable for the others (fast transfer times) but the King runs off inverted DC all the time as I understand (zero transfer time)

I believe so. Even the Kings will have to go to a bypass mode (AC-in connected to AC-out) if the load exceeds rated output. That could happen at any moment.

Update,   it is   playing   up again so I did some  testing  , if I turn inverter off then ,  start generator,   Any generator  even an old clapped out  one  with v and Hz  up and down,   it is going   to bypass and charge  No problem  ??

Yup, as @Coulomb says: Axperts should be a bit better at reading from the Gen output, but we also have to understand that our Gensets in SA are not the best quality, so many don't put out a decent sinusoidal wave, they use a "chopped" sine wave output to "pretend" to be a good source. The Axperts tend to want a decent sinusoidal wave (or as close to) and cheap generators in this country don't do that.
