If I hadn't ordered this inverter and done this 7S2P setup, what would you have done with my 14 panels, which inverter?

Well, I'm not a fan of high voltage PV strings either, so I would have wired them 2S7P with one of the Axpert MKS models (not an MKS II). But I don't even know if they make a suitable 24 V model. I'd pick the one with the highest PV power; some of the 24 V models are really stingy with the built-in PV charger.

Sunsynk 3.6kw or 5kw inverter. I'm biased towards sunsynk inverters as I have their 8kw unit.

It just works. I'm not sure how many are currently installed in SA but there seems to be very little issues being reported or user complaints just looking through the threads on this site. Mine has been running now for four months with not a single issue yet. Some software bugs was sorted fairly quickly with updates pushed through via the Internet.

Hi from France,

I have the same problem with my WKS EVO 2;

When the weather is slightly gray, the mppt input drops to 120V DC, and there is no more production. At the same time, on my other installation with charge regulator, i have production (panel are the same model)

With sun no problem.

I have 2 string, 2x9 panels (300w).

I think there is a real problem with the mppt on this WKS.

As long as it's not a clone (and it doesn't appear to be, without being able to check in detail), they all should be the same inside, just with different stickers and/or paint.

As a point of interest, what is your main (U1) firmware version?

Dragging the PV voltage down to the bottom of the MPPT range sounds to me like a firmware issue.

Hi,

See attached file for the firmware information.

Do You think it's possible to upgrade ?

I believe so. In my collection of Axpert VM III firmwares, I have 20.59, 41.08, 41.16, and 91.20. Others seem to have successfully updated from one major version number (e.g. 41.xx) to another (e.g. 91.xx). See this site for the latest available firmware. Consider updating the removable display firmware (currently 02.60) as well as the main (DSP) firmware (currently 91.20).

Your present firmware would seem to be fairly old. Only my very old 20.59 is older (in a sample of 5 versions).

Hi thanks for answer.

Can you send me the right link, i'm not sure of wich it is.

Hi,

No, i've tested first to upgrade the MCU.

But the software can't open the com port.

Hi,

I have this cable, but don't work. the PC port com can't connect with the inverter

Hi,

I don'thave the orginal cable. do You have a diagram or schematic to make it myself

That one almost certainly won't work without an adapter. The Axperts use a non-standard pinout for the RJ-45 connector. You are supposed to use a USB to D9 adapter, in conjunction with the RJ-45 to D9 cable that came with your inverter-charger.

Hi my nama is Bob, and i have a PIP5048GK HV

What is maximum MPPT current for PIP 5048GK MPP SOLAR.

MY OCV is 394,4 volts, and max short circut current 11,6 amps

I don't believe that they specify this value, sadly. But it should be at least 18 A.

So that's roughly 3.8 kW nominal of PV panels. That should be fine for this model.
