February 16, 20206 yr I have a 3000va Multiplus (48v) connected to Venus gx via VE bus. When I access the venus, the loads shown, does not correspond to the readings on an owl energy meter. Typically the reading shown on the venus is about half (or less) the load shown on the Owl meter. I'm guessing it is a setting that need to be changed. Any advice on how te rectify? The Multi measures the load on its output. Is the owl connected to the same output as well. Does the Owl have a CT only or does it measure voltage as well. If you had to manually enter a Voltage value and the Owl calculates the Wattage using that value, it will not be accurate..
February 16, 20206 yr The Owl only has a CT, so it only measures apparent power. It will always measure more than the Multiplus. That and what Jaco said.
February 16, 20206 yr I also have both Venus GX measuring Grid consumption via a CG ET112 and the owl attached to my incoming Live conductor. The ET112 is measuring 30W (0.1A) and the OWL is measuring 1.1A. On average the OWL will read 20-15% higher that than meters that read both current and voltage over an average measuring period. The OWL is especially inaccurate below 2 Amps.

Owl is connected on incoming AC from the grid, no pv running since pv inverter is in for repairs. Voltage is not read by Owl, it is manually entered in te settings (230V)

The owl will be reading the loads before and after the inverter and the venus will only read the loads on the multis output. That will also explain the difference you see.
February 16, 20206 yr Author Thanks Jaco, there are no loads before the inverter, it used to be set up on Hub 2, but have now changed to ESS
