My batteries are normally fully charged by 13:00 anyway from 40% overnight 

will the 40% at 9pm carry you through a night time load shedding. 

Good question! These were the settings from the installer, except I have now changed the SoC as shown.  It does not work that way however as the batteries charge up from PV from first light with no draw from grid....  there may be another priority setting to favour PV before grid.

just saw this now.... not pulling much more than 300w after 9pm, so will be tight but was still at 55% SoC this morning at 5am.  Will need to monitor it over a period time and adjust for typical use..... or save up for another 3.5 Pylon

My grid charge settings are similar to the video.  Cloudy overcast day in Gauteng today and my PV barely got the 3% charge in at 40% level.  Although I had grid charge to come on at 3pm - this did not happen......guessing that on the Battery Setting page, Start is set at 30%, so grid charge would not have been activated? 

what settings have you seen work for grid charge?

Hi there, thanks for the post. Would you mind e-mailing me the Pylontech performance curves please. I run 3 of the US3000C and I set my GoodWe 3.6kW inverter to hold the charge at 45% DOD and then go over to Eskom. The inverter will keep that and if Eskom fails will use the reserve and I have set the DOD in this scenario to 88%, bearing in mind the US3000C has a max DOD of 95%. Typically I can run most of the important stuff and lights all day and all night if sunny but may need a bit of grid supply from 06h00 until the PV's get sun, then I am fully charged at 10h30 if good sun or latest 11h30 - 12h00.

I have a 8kw hybrid sunsynk invertor and 2 x Pylontech Us3000c batteries. I cannot seem to find correct battery setting. I would like to find out what is correct charge amps and discharge amps is supposed to be set set at. Aswell as battery capacity

Hi, (Audience) Please check my numbers if I'm correct in this - maybe this will answer my question and Mohammed_riaz


A. The inverter and Battery manuals should be read together to get to the correct charge, discharge, capacity settings for the Deye/SunSync inverters

For my Deye 5Kw - the inverter spec from the manual is 120A max charge / discharge - so that is the max I can ever set it even if I had 10 batteries (120A is the top)

For the US3000C - the battery recommended charge /discharge is 37A each

1 x Battery your max charge / discharge rate is 37A
2 x Battery your max charge / discharge rate is 74A
3 x Battery your max charge / discharge rate is 111A
4 x Battery your max charge / discharge rate is 120A < max cap from the inverter >
5 x Battery your max charge / discharge rate is 120A
6 x Battery your max charge / discharge rate is 120A

Battery Capacity in the settings [Batt Capacity]

The US3000C has 3552 Wh Nominal Capacity
The Voltage is 48V 
Ah rating is [3552 divide by 48 =  74Ah per single battery

1 x Battery your Capacity is 74 Ah
2 x Battery your Capacity is 148Ah
3 x Battery your Capacity is 222Ah
4 x Battery your Capacity is 296 Ah
5 x Battery your Capacity is 370 Ah
6 x Battery your Capacity is 444 Ah

from the next section this is where you specify the max GENERATOR and GRID charging current
this is more about the current it will draw from the gen and grid - nothing to do with the battery settings in a parallel setup of the battery bank itself

so no matter how many batteries you have the gen / grid in this page is capped to 40A

Good  morning, very new to solar so please keep any answer simple to understand, I have a pair of US300C batteries and I'm trying to find out accurate detail on the max rate of charge that they should be set to to ensure maximum life. My invertor is a Solis and watching some setup videos it suggests that on one of the invertor screens that the batteries will show the max rate? I have checked this and got one figure (was far lower than the example in the video), however, I then go further into the setup and note that the invertor is looking to charge at a higher rate (this was set by the installers) so I have currently left everything the way it was installed, but would not like to think that I'm harming the batteries, whilst also thinking that both figures appear to be on the low side? (not added any figures so as to keep the discussion open) 

US3000C batteries are normally 37A each but that does change with temperature. The batteries should tell the inverter what charge if you have the communication set up correctly.
