July 22, 20169 yr Hi Guys My Mecer on the farm blew its motherboard according to Mustek.I handed in the inverter yesterday and they replaced it today and it is ready for collection very good service. I asked the guy what went wrong and he explained that the mosfets blew on the output side of the board he also stated that i might have been due to a faulty battery or just component fail. Feel free to give any feedback. Regards
July 22, 20169 yr Batteries exploding, heard this last nigh. They are 7-8 year old, 2 x 105ah Royals in UPS, no power failure, just exploded, where on float in other words. Happened last week Thursday. Luckily no-one as in the office when this happened.
July 22, 20169 yr Well now there is something you do not see everyday. Sent from my SM-N900 using Tapatalk
August 10, 20169 yr I dropped off my Mecer at Mustek on Monday, same model, let's see if they say the same thing
August 13, 20169 yr @TTT any idea of how much electrolyte was left in the battery? Would be interesting to know what caused the battery to fail. I have a Victron 24V / 3KVa / 70 Amp charger with 50A Ac transfer capacity for you at R11 000 if you are interested. (will post some pics on the classifieds section)

Bottom line, they should never have been left for 7 years all on their own. But I will be back. Missed one a few weeks ago for R7500 by the skin on my butt. Turned out it was a blessing for instead I sorted my controllers once and for all.

I want... I have to be disciplined and all (long term plan going here... so by year end debt is gone and the annual bonus can be used for something nice). Just for interest sake though, what processor in that inverter? 19 series, or 25/26 series? If it is the latter, that makes it considerable more appealing.

You just can't run anything past the 2xx series firmware, which precludes the stuff I want to do (hub systems), but you can run basic relay assistants and you can of course run the old 1xx firmware with virtual switch. And at the price, I'm sure someone will grab it. A new one is like 25k :-)
