Tariq
Is the pv switch on the inverter an isolater, or do we still need to install an additional isolater? Edited May 14, 2021 by Tariq

It is an isolater, but not a very useful one, does not have many safety benefits. I still had proper external DC isolaters installed, as well as surge protection. Tariq
Hi @YellowTapemeasure, in your opinion what is missing, regarding safety features on the pv switch as compared to a db mounted isolator

If I want to work on the inverter, or inspect or even poke around it, I can isolate the incoming PV using the DB mounted isolator, disconnecting the battery fuse/isolator and isolate the grid. I don't have to trust the DC isolator on the inverter itself, it's still live DC going into it, which can be very nasty. Maybe I am paranoid? YellowTapemeasure
It's also convenient: I can isolate one of the strings for troubleshooting.
