August 7, 20215 yr I'm new to the forum, so please bear with me. I recently added a US3000c to my US3000A. I have done the firmware upgrade on the A without issue, using a cable from Centurion Solar. The problem comes when I try to do the C. I'm using the C cable that came with my Raspberry Pi for the C. Battery View reports. "The name of selected file is conflicted with the device name". I have asked tech at Segen, but no ideas. I made up a different cable as per other threads, but same issue. I tried the V1.8, v1. 9 and v2. 1(from forum). All report the same error. Any ideas?
September 19, 20214 yr Hi Johan, The 3000A batteries firmware cannot be done in one go. Chances are you have 1.1 or 1.3 on your battery. In that case, you have to go to 1.7 first, and then from there you can do a jump to 2.4. FYI, for those that don't know (apart from the obvious firmware versions), the only difference between the A and B's were the thickness of the wires coming from the cells, which meant lower amps in and out.

Is it really advantageous to upgrade the 300A/B firmware, what does the upgrade do/improve things?

The biggest advantage is making them work properly with the C version. We deal with a lot of the installers, suppliers and en users out there, and we have noticed a situation where B's and C's in a mixture ends up giving an error, which (thus far) seems to be resolved when all of them are on the latest firmware. If you don't have that situation, then the default principle applies: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Say I am running Solar assistant or SMH?

I lately installed a US3000C on 4 US3000, they have worked well together and this afternoon I got the red alarm light, with a SYSEr on my SMH for the US3000C battery, is there a place that I can go to, so they may update my firmware...? I merely rebooted everything and it seems fine for now...please let me know whom can, I am willing to pay for it. .
