  1. I presume you PV1 and 3 are connected in parallel. The 6 panels are dictating the volts of the combined 2 strings. Panels in parallel will give a output at the lower string of those connected. When in parallel 3 panels are thus wasted. Best to add 3 more to the string of 6 if space permits.
  2. The manual provides the answer. 49-50V is at 20%.
  3. Take a rough guide by looking at the highest voltage during good sun and low load.
  4. Would 8kW of 445W being 18 panels not be pushing it a bit too high for a 5kW unit?
  5. If I had an idea of courier cost I would be keen on these S-100. Mine are 3yrs old and working very well. I have only put on about 32 cycles in this time but added 16 in the last 7 weeks.

  8. Yes this is normal on the over 145V models. That's why panels must be isolated when even working on them during the period after sunset.

  10. As @TaliaB indicated the voltage is too high and needs to be corrected. Even the voltage during the highest load during peak can be 25V lower to prevent the high level during the after 22h00 period. This shows a different tap must be used. If a sparky from Tshwane would come out they can easily just compare the voltage of a transformer close to this one in the same residential area at the same time of day.
  11. A friend of mine also had stolen Leoch. When I mentioned the risk to him he contacted the installer. No ways was his answer. When he wanted to add more of the same comms would not work. Contacted 1st installer and mentioned the theft issue again. Immediately the 1st installer removed the old batteries and supplies 2 new ones free of charge. Why? so quick the 2nd time round?
  12. In order to help one needs to know make and model of panels and how many in series to get to 119V. As has been pointed out when measuring at the panels they are Voc. When at the MPPT they must also not be connected to ensure you comparing apples with apples. The as a 2nd reading give the V reading when connected to the MPPT and also what current is drawn from the panels to charge battery when connected. My 2c.

  15. Thanks for the reply. May be I am too sensitive on FETs as we change a number of 84A FETs every day that feed 12V gate motors where the source is only a 7Ah battery.
  16. Sorry I did not answer the question. I belief it is not good practise to downgrade component conducting high current like FETs. Just my 2c.
  17. The FETs you need are available on aliexpress and other on line sellers.
  18. Because it is indicated that A and C will be in parallel it might be a good call than if they were in series due to those huge shade generators 😅
  19. Sounds OK that air can be sucked in but less of a problem as atmospheric pressure is pressing water into the pump due to gravity feed although there is still suction. This is what I found and I work on the sound from the pump to know when my system is sucking in air when the inlet side tank is nearly empty. Just how I think about it.
  20. Excellent question as it must vent. From the video I cannot understand the mechanical noise when the pump is not running=when pressure gauge drop to zero. No sound that it is sucking air. Just ensure that the fan is not touching the black cover as the cover is only held in place by a bottom clamp and 1 screw at the top. Just my 2c.
  21. One should hear the sound from the pump changing if it was sucking air or if it does not get all the water it needs from the inlet. As the pipe to the house is close to the pump outlet I will connect it directly on the outlet with the pressure regulator removed. Open a tap in the house and start the pump. If it runs more than 5min it is the controller at fault. Further these pumps normally have a 6-12 month warranty. From the picture I have very much the same pump but without the pressure regulator but I don't use it in the house but to water my lawn with grey water. IIRC if the tap would be closed without the controller the pump would still run without damage for quite a while.

  24. Yes that is true but some very old and old meters do have a ratchet that prevents reversing of the disc. It all boils down the the specific design of the meter.
  25. The 1st 2 digits give the voltage. In this case 48V
