Eskom ridiculous quote to connect!
I suspect your 100k is not enough for your batteries.

moving to solar, advice on moving to prepaid as well
There are also two tariff rates for prepaid and post paid that you should look at. https://ltcelectricalservices.co.za/electrician-in-edenvale-and-bedfordview-boksburg-benoni-germiston-bruma-alberton/ekhureleni-electricity-charges-explained/#:~:text=The cost of electricity in,819 units in one month.&text=The cost is R2.,unit no matter the consumption.

Pylontech High Voltage Alarm
Agree. I suppose if the battery is full ,its full. You cant really over charge a lithium if I'm not mistaken.Just dont over-volt the battery and all should be well. I've been running my pylontech's at 52,5v for the last week or so and they seem happy. I think its best to monitor the batteries from their own volt readings and not just to accept what the inverter is showing. These things are not all calibrated the same.

The 53,2v setting for pylontech and fong kong AC/DC inverters.
Hi Green Power I did not have a beep/alarm and only the ALM Red Led turned on.I assume that it was not such a serious over-voltage. I did however reduce my charge rate to 52,5v (both bulk and float ) as I mentioned above and can confirm that my system has been running like charm for the last week or so with no alarm logs or indications so I'm happy keeping it where it is at the moment.

The 53,2v setting for pylontech and fong kong AC/DC inverters.
Yours is the safer side of things cause Im sure that if a person ever has warranty claim and you were over volting the battery constantly the warranty would be void. I dropped my settings to 52,5v now .The weather man says I'm in for some rain for a few days so will have to wait and see where I end up Charge wise.

The 53,2v setting for pylontech and fong kong AC/DC inverters.
The last few days I've been monitoring my sytem a bit having good sunlight just wanting to make sure all is well. What I came across is alarming. Keeping in mind that my inverters were set to the recomended 53,2 volt for Charging and float of Pylontech batteries I found that the voltage would actually creep up and cause OV logs using multisibcontrol. I proceeded to reduce the voltage to 53,0v yesterday and were still logging High Voltage logs. This morning I changed it 52,8 Volt. Although not logging anymore alarms it still managed to climb to 53,535 volts. Just shows you how important it is to double check that your system is happy. I think I'll be dropping it another 0.3 volts to 52,5 just to be on the save side. Did anyone else experience this with propper Axpert inverters I added a few logs to show whats going on.

Pylontech UP5000 DOD
Hi Tallies Thats correct,it does support 95% DOD. It will not affect your warranty (5 years) and is designed to do so. The longevity however is affected by various factors and DOD is one of them .

Newbie question - how to graph your electricity usage
You could also look at past electricity bills or if you are on pre-paid then most units have a total consumption reading that can be used to get your average usage. All electrical equipment also have labels on them to give you the power required.

Steepest learning curve ever! :)
You should consider adding Pylontech to your batery list.

New software for Inverter/Pylontech monitoring and control
Scrap the previous statement. When I select to use both Consol and Rs485 source,it doesnt show pack cycles or capacity for P9 and P10. So consol as source is the way to go for now. Appears to show all the Packs

New software for Inverter/Pylontech monitoring and control
Thanks Marc I made up a cable for the consol port and can confirm that it sorted out my problem. I saw on multisib's web page that you can connect both the Consol and Rs485 port at the same time so will be doing that for now.

New software for Inverter/Pylontech monitoring and control
Hi MarcB2007 As it stands at the moment still no luck. Currently (master us3000c) -(2-6 us3000c ) and (7-10 us2000c) Ive also tried (master us3000c- (2-5 us2000c) - and (6-10 us3000c) Any sugestions wil be welcomed. Do you know if there is a cable that can used from a usb to consol port in place of a rs232 to consol port?

New software for Inverter/Pylontech monitoring and control
Thanks Clearly the problem is not multisibcontrol. I will change my config a bit and see if it makes a difference. The laptop Im using for monitoring doesnt have the RS232 port so Im only using a RS485 to USB cable at this stage. Will report back again.

Balancing batteries when adding a new unit to your system.Yea or Nay?
Hi There's so many videos demonstrating how to balance your battery when introducing a new unit to your system it kinda makes you believe that you have to do it in order for your system to work , and I did. However this time arround I decided not to balance my batteries when I added another 2 units to my system yesterday afternoon just to see what happens.Thinking I can always balance it later if need be. When I checked this morning (about 18hours later) the batteies are all within 1%. So ,do you really need to balance your new battery to your system or do you trust the BMS in the battery to do what its suppose to?

New software for Inverter/Pylontech monitoring and control
After adding another 2 pylontechs to my system It seems that multisib only reads 8 units. I messaged Yani to hear if there is an update or work arround for this. Just standing by for now.

Pylontech 300OC
Not in my case. All dip switches off even the master as in the foto provided.I suppose it varies between the setups.

Battery choice?
If you have the C model you can add 16 in one bank without a hub and when you add a hub you can add several banks.
-
Battery choice?
You should add pylontech to your list as they are modular ,so easy to expand 3X US3000c will give you 10.5KW 10 year guarantee (3 for plus minus 54k). OR 2x UP5000 will give you 9.6kw 5 year guarantee.(2 for plus minus 46k) Also within your budget.

Adding more Pylontech US3000C
You will always end up with a spare set of those 180 mm link cables.Nothing prevents you from chopping them in half and extending them with the same type cable.Proper ferrules and a hydraulic crimper would be required though , OR buy an additional set of cables. The other thing is that KVA is is apparent power. So 8kva at a power factor of 1.0 is 8000 watt but at a power factor of 0.8 it will only be 6400 watt. My 10kva system is only good for 8000 watt. Keep this in mind when you shop for inverters.

Pylontech us2000 - settings on weird inverter
Nope When on battery mode, max consumption Should be calculated at 48v (25A * 48 =1200 watt) Yes the battery can handle 50A MAX but look at the recomended. The below figures are for the us2000c but Im sure yours wont be much different.

Eskom Rates
I hear what your saying. Nothing good will come from Eskom failing. If they can just root out corruption and vandalism to their infrastructure it will already go a long way towards recovery in my opinion.
