  1. The NEW address in Centurion is also a scam!
  2. Sun4Safe is a scam - We ordered two Lithium batteries from them and it was never delivered ` https://sun4safe.com They have now removed the stolen company and VAT numbers from their website and quickly moved to Cape Town. Original address New address
  3. Definitely a scam, unfortunately I didn't see your messages before I paid them. On my way to the SAPS to get a case number for the banks Fraud investigation
  4. As many above alluded, there are two series of the US3000C battery. Up to about middle of Covid, the US3000C had the original hardware with a firmware version that reached up to V2.7, if I remember correctly. As many others at the time, Pylontech ran into component problems and changed the internal electronics and restarted the firmware version, as the two HW versions are NOT compatible. There are no visible distinguishing makes on the outside so you can have either HW version of the US3000C. DON’T upgrade batteries with V1.x firmware (the new hardware) with the V2.x firmware (for the old hardware) - IT WILL BRICK your battery! Using the Zipfile version upgrade process, which are clearly described in the PDF instruction document, you should be fine. Again READ THE PDF instructions first!
  5. Gents, read the 3.0.28 PDF - it explains when to use bin and when to use Zip and why
  6. To get 5V from 48V Use the above DC/DC from Communica (~R80.00) and get a 1.5KE6.8A Transzorb at the same time. In its protection direction, it has a ~7V voltage drop and can handle 400mA without getting to warm. Wire it in serie in the postive 48V supply line, with the cathode band facing the 48V battery. This drops the 48V (can be up to 57V when charging), down to less than 50V. Lastly put one of the RPI stick-on Heatsinks on the LM2596 chip to ensure it runs cooler. Works great for a few extra sents
  7. Thanks - Will try to do that
  8. Good day, I have been battling with this new behaviour for a few days, since upgrading the US3000A from V1.3 to V3.4 (updated due to requirement to add 2 x US3000C). Update went fine and new BMS battery screens are available in the Victron Display as expected. The ESS system is set to Keep Batteries Charged, as the system is basically used as a UPS. The night time charging is where things changed after the Pylontech update, no other settings were changed and there are now coms errors or alarms, etc. The charge mode now cycles between Bulk and Absorption and the 48V BUS Voltage between 50.2V and 52.4V (previously it was kept at 52.4V (Battery is at 100% SOC). Any advice would be appreciated, and is this how Pylontech now maintain 100% SOC on the cells? Daily Cycle:
  9. Dankie Sarel, Do you know if one can downgrade the Firmware? Not sure if there is actually a version earlier than 3.4 available?
  10. Thanks you Sarel, appreciate your time - this all started after moving the two US3000A to the Version 3.4. I did press the SW red reset buttons today just icase, and reset the GX as well. The GX is the one in the large EasySolar Send me you details to randmental @gmail.com, then I add you to the remote access. regards
  11. Sarel, If I may ask, are this correct? We have no experience with the Pylontech batterries on this level, before the upgrade to V3.4 was done. This is only aspect we see that potentially cause those cycling ? Is it normal for these to fields be empty (Null)?
  12. Hi Sarel, Thanks again fro assisting. We do have a MK3 and do our own firmware upgrades when necessary (being a technology company we like to understand and manage these things) I have added the ESS configuration above, perhaps after you replied? I attached the rvsc file below, if you have a momenet to upload and verify it for us. (VEConfigure) Thanks for the document link - that is the one we used to confirm the settings, plus the settings files we saved from before the V3.4 upgrade. We have kepty everything the same. 13. Thank you for the reply Sarel Here goes: With Limits added it,makes no difference: Previously we had LCC 74A LCV 54.2V ESS Assistant setup
  14. Hi Guys We have a Victron System, Multiplus 48V5000 250/100 MPPT and 2 x Pylontech 3000A batteries. The System is set to ESS UPS mode as backup for ESKOM (Keep Battery Charged). In preparation for adding two more 3000C batteries, we upgrade the 3000A batteries from V1.3 to V3.4 as needed. We now have the Pylontech the Muliplus Charger cycling the Battery Voltage during the night (No MPPT input). There are no coms errorrs in any logs or module errors. Any ideas please, we check all the settings and all are the same as before the V3.4 upgrade. (Our dealer has no idea either) Interesting on the GX screen under Pylontech -> Parameters, the CCL is 0.0 (Daytime while MPPT is delivering power the voltage is 52.4V) Pylontech Batteryview V3.0.24:
  15. It should be much easier to use a USB to RS232 dongle cable. US3000 - RJ9, I used an old telephone cable, wired as indicated below. US3000C - RJ45, I used standard LAN ethernet cable for the connector and wired as below. Here are the RS232 connections from the Pylontech SOP:
