Something else that I would like to know is about installation of plug sockets in a ceiling. I have cameras around the house that works on wifi. They obviously need power and are connected to plug sockets in rooms but I dont like the cables. I was wondering if its possible (and legal) to get an electricity supply in the roof to not have the unsightly cables. Or can you run extension cords within the ceiling cavity? Can someone please suggest some solutions to this before I start getting quotes to do it

Hi guys We are busy with renovations in our house. I bought veti plug sockets from major tech and noted they dont have an on/off switch. As a kid I was taught you first have to switch it off before you unplug. What are youre thoughts on this? Is this legal to install?

I think this should be possible. But what would be the objective of this? It seems like you want to save electricity cost by doing this (like all of us), but I dont see how this solution would achieve that?

I can unfortunately not assist (but find the micro inverters very interesting). What is the reason you want to go for a micro inverter rather than a string inverter.

I was also looking at this at some point (but dont have one installed). I believe the voltage of the array is the most important part to be specced correctly and interestingly enough the data sheet shown a 2 kw element needed higher voltage than a 3 or 4 kw element. I also saw they recommend lower watt panels.

How much water would typically be lost when the water gets too hot? Is it a matter of losing a little bit or being without hot water and needing all the water to be reheated again.

Hi Riaan I have 4 x 340 watt panels from the sun pays that are basically brand new. I have a shading problem and decided to go for a bigger panels and full solar system instead of dedicated panels for a geyser. if youre interested you can let me know. Im also based in Centurion
