SS5K Abnormal Values Reported Randomly.
Hi @mzezman No, nothing has changed. I've doublechecked each time I notice this happening. Sometimes it lasts for a few minutes - other times it goes on for hours. The system has been running perfectly fine for a year now. It just started doing this randomly in the last month or so. 🙀

SS5K Abnormal Values Reported Randomly.
Hi, I have had this SS 5K installed for exactly a year now and have never had issues with its performance. For the last month or so I have noticed that my SunSynk 5K, would show very strange values popping up on the portal (sometimes during the night). The picture below shows the very unusual usage pattern. The picture below shows what it looks like on a normal day. Data Extract from SS website Some sample from when it was reporting the problematic values. This morning I noticed again that it was showing the strange high values and I decided to start eliminating circuits piece by piece to see if I can find the source. 1. I isolated the LOAD (ie tripped the load breaker), this made no difference and the values persisted on the portal as well as on the units display. 2. I then turned off everything on the non-essential side (geyser, oven, outbuilding etc), this also made no difference. 3. When terminating the grid feed to the inverter, the values drop to Zero (which I suspect is normal, as the grid is deemed lost). When returning power to the Inverter, the values shot straight backup. 4. Since I now removed all the essential and non-essential circuits from the inverter. I proceeded to power the unit down, and back up again. This too made no difference, the values went back up. 5. Out of desperation, I did a factory reset on the 5K and reconfigured it - this too made no difference, and the values popped right back to before the resets. I then went to the Municipal Meter and noticed that the meter was turning backwards - VERY ODD. Turning the Inverter off, stopped the meter from turning, turning the Inverter on - and the municipal meter started turning backwards again. NOTE: The Unit is correctly configured with Zero Export, and the CT has been in place since initial installation and it has never done this before. I am not sure what else to look at next. Has anyone else experienced something similar or have further suggestions on what I could look at. This is definitely not a website issue, as I see the same numbers on the Inverter display during the time of the issues. Muchly Appreciated. SW Ver.:M 3.3.7.4 / S -- / C E.4.2.4

SunSynk Flow UI in Home Assistant
I have seen quite a few people asking about being able to see the SunSynk Flow UI in Home Assistant. So I went playing a bit to see if it is possible to create a custom component in home assistant that would mirror this. Reading a whole lot of documentation on Home Assistant as well as getting to grips with all the possible measurements that is available from the Inverter, I finally have a VERY ALPHA version of it running in Home Assistant and it appears to reflect the UI on my inverter pretty well. Maybe one day I will publish this in HACS and make this custom component available for use. For now there is still a whole lot of learning that needs to happen on building custom components for Home Assistant. Yes I know ... I'm a bit of a #GEEK, but at least now I can see my Inverter's flow screen without going to the garage. 😉

SunSynk 5k BMS485 Failure
I've had a SunSynk 5kW running for a good few months now and have successfully had it integrated with Solar Assistant. A month or so ago, the Solar Assistant stopped being able to connect to the Inverter over the BMS485 Port. The RS485 converters connecting to Solar Assistant as well as all cabling has been replaced during the troubleshooting many times but the problem persists Solar Assistant was reinstalled and this also did not fix the problem. I then went and logged a call with SunSynk and after sending the unit to them for testing they sent it back saying there is nothing wrong with the Inverter. I did explain to them that the BMS485 port is not working. Their feedback was that there is no way for them to test this port. (Huh?) After some debate they agreed to replace the interface board. The unit was returned today an reinstalled, after being with them for almost 3 weeks+. The unit was recommissioned this morning, but even after this boards replacement the problem persists. I have done testing with a RS485 Serial Sniffer connected to laptop and cannot see any TX from the inverter. So I am certain that the interface board replacement is not where the problem lies, but maybe on the board (main board?)that feeds that board. Has anyone had a similar experience with communicating on the BMS485 port? It is quite expensive to keep sending the inverter back and from (shipping) to get it tested by SunSynk, have had the unit shipped twice now. Is there anything else one can do to check/confirm/prove to SunSynk that the BMS485 port is not operational. I find it very strange that this is a function on the unit, yet they say they have no way to test it. Other than that the unit appears to be 100% functional. Might it be firmware related? The unit is on the latest firmware which they upgraded to during the initial testing before the Inverter was sent to SunSynk. I did ask them at the time to downgrade to the version my Inverter had on when it was originally installed, but they upgraded it to a newer version (sigh). Getting to the point where I want to throw this thing in the ocean.

Sunsynk 5kw fan
Hi @Terminal3k. I used an old laptop powersupply and wired it in directly to the fans. Their usage is low so I just leave them running 24x7.

Sunsynk 5kw fan
I've also installed external PC fans on my fan-less Sunsynk 5kW to add airflow over the heat sinks as I did not like the 60 degree temps. 50cfm fan drops temp quite a bit.

Howsit! I don't see that stats for Pack #1 so cant tell you the detail reflected there. I only get the Dashboard > Battery stats in your top picture. Do you monitor via the Sunsynk Inverter or via a direct connection between SA and the batteries? I monitor it via the inverter and bms - maybe that is why there is different view. Not sure.

Yet Another SunSynk 5kW Install
According to the tool, with my configuration and panel size and location it predicts a production capability of around 7.338MWh per year. Below some sample real measurements of my install for this month. NOTES: Battery was only installed on 6th. Most of the grid is from my old 3kW inefficient geyser in the morning before the sun comes up. (my next project then that geyser dies) plus about 300W - 500W odd feed off grid in the morning hours after the battery runs to 40% SOC. [have not done SOC lower than 40% yet] plus the odd days when my tenant decides to cook up a storm in the flat 😞

Production is also a function of use. As the inverter reports production in the context of use. Ie. It might be able to produce more, but if there is no use/load for it then it tones itself down. Im not exporting to grid. Ive gone from about 25 units average per day grid to about 5 to 7 units per day before I installed the batery. Will know in a week or so if the battery made more grid reduction improvement.

Yet Another SunSynk 5kW Install
My battery arrived this week. Oh boy what a breeze to get the Hubble AM-2 installed configured and BMS talking to the Sunsynk. This baby is about to get his first charge up. Looks like a nice full sunny day. Then start setting up the Work Mode settings to match our home usage profile.

Negative load spike on system?
true - suppose I'm going to keep an eye on it for a while and see if it reoccurs and how frequent etc.

Negative load spike on system?
@MdF I noticed the same thing happening today at times - I did upgrade Solar Assistant to the latest version (BETA) this morning if I remember). I did see some of those negative loads / and loads dropping to ZERO and then back up a few times today. Not sure if it might be related / similar issue being experienced. NOTE: Values are tiny - cause I do not currently have anything on the load side - all is GRID/Hybrid side.

Got to get some work done today - the beauty of holiday projects and holidays. Now that both PV Arrays are wired up to the DC Distribution, getting the inverter and other isolators and things onto the wall ready for wiring. Layout drawn onto wall for spacing and placement of component Inverter Mounting Bracket onto the Wall PV DC Termination from Panels, ready and waiting for some feeds and cabling Will get some more progress pictures going as this project progresses.
