  1. With what step are you struggling? Did you load the libraries into the arduino folder? Did you open the sketch in Arduino IDE?
  2. There was a open packet of the geyserwise at Chamberlains, I had a look and it looks like a normal NTC (10K 0.5%) Waterproof Sensor with two wires coming out and a plug on the end. That the slides down the thin pipe on the thermostat This then goes into the control module. From there one connect the display to the box. So even though it might be showing the digital value I think the original value is analog. Or if you really want, you can get a normal DS18B20 sensor and slide it down into the pipe and measure the temp. Would pretty much give the same if not more accurate reading of the water temp. This can easily then be hooked up to a nodemcu running tasmota. Add a pzem-004t or a CT clamp and a big relay and you can control the TEMP, measure the current and switch the geyser on or off as needed.
  3. I had a look at the Geyserwise for the same scenario. If I check the thermostat is loose inside the pipe. My guess it is a standard analog temp sensor. Wonder if you can't just parallel connect it to a nodemcu with tasmota.
  4. I tested my current setup and angles with both the calculators and it currently give me the same output that I see on my side. Last few days the output is down because of cloud coverage and haziness.

  7. I can't comprehend the power in that cable. Heard most of them are actually water cooled cable running between the charger and vehicle. Are most of these stations battery powered or grid?
  8. What if you move the micro from the old board over to the new one. Test and see if it is the chip or something else on the board maybe?
  9. Yes, reduce electricity bill. I have a small 700w inverter with 2x80ah batteries to just run the network, home autormation stuff, camera, server, lights and tv for loadshedding. Loadshedding is less then 0,01% of the total year. Building a full battery system for the 0,01% of the time is a waste in my mind. With the solar panels facing NW I am surprised that the inverter start producing around 8am already with around 20w, 1pm peak currently 940w and then 5pm around 200w.   10. I currently have CT clamp's in the db there on the end you'll see small wire coming out. Trying to hide it. This goes through MQTT to the server and then I have a laptop on a table that is not in the picture. This uses RS-232 to control the inverter export. The meter is on the other side of the wall. The 4 current panels is stage one, plan is to add another 4 panels on the right side. The inverter has a range of 120v-500v for it to switch on. And only start producing from 140V from my monitoring of the inverter. From what I can track from the CT clamp the production as follow. Saturday after installation 3kwh for the day and yesterday 5.2kwh for the day.
  11. Hi All, After some time planning and getting most of the stuff ready I got my panels and inverter up and running. Over the last few days, I prepared for the installation with hanging the inverter and installing the conduit and cables in the roof for a quick install. Electrician and the panels guys installed the rest the past weekend. Spec: Inverter : KSTAR KSG-4k Grid Tied Panel : 4 x 350w Canadian Solar Setup was in the garage as there is not space anywhere else. Panels is mounted NW as this is the only space that is available on the roof. Monitoring, moved my home power usage monitor to the inverter output to see how much is generated until I can get my inverter monitoring setup.
  12. For me I went with a few Sonoff PowR2 on certain devicess that I can monitor. I flashed these with Tasmota and then upload it through mqtt to Home Assistant. From Home Assistant into influx DB and then graph on Grafana. For monitoring the combined I used the pzem-004t connected to a nodeMCU flashed with tasmota that send the data to Home Assistant again. This works out to around R140 for the pzem-004t and include a display that I place next to the DB. And R70 for the nodeMCU. Below is a picture of the pzem-004t. It accept AC power input to measure realtime voltage and do the power usage. Bit more DIY as some products here but work for me. Below is a extract, the geyser timer is set to start at 18:30 till 20:45 each day. We also have a municipality geyser control installed. From the graph you can see that the geyser 1st goes on around 20:20 till around 20:45 even though it is set to start around 18:30. The 18:40 part is where we start using the stove.
  13. Just a side of caution, the sonoff power rating is very much over-rated. Try to stick to no more than 70% of the rated capacity. Ex: Sonoff basic - 10A, max load it to 7A. Our voltage is 249V x 7A = 1700w
  14. Yes, once you setup it on your phone you can share it with someone that also created a ewelink account. Or add a amazon echo dot or google home device to control it in the room.

  16. I am sure they are all back to work to pay for that blue luxury. But in all honesty, this is a start as a hobby while I have some cash flow to plan for later when more expenses creep in. Don't have kids currently but while I have some cash to start building a system that can benefit us at a later stage. Started off with a 500w 12v pure sine wave ups and 8 ups batteries. Back in 2015 when load shed started. Then upgraded to 2 x 105 ah deep cycle batteries for the ups. Then upgraded to a 600w 24v pure sine wave inverter with 4 x 105ah deep cycle batteries. Stayed in a apartment and could not do anything with solar or bigger inverter. That kept be going but now it is time for bigger. Latest addition is a grid tie inverter - Kstar Omega KSG 4k that has a 4000w 2 string input MPPT controller.
  17. TTT are you refereing to blue Victron? If that is the case, by starting small I am going with the cheaper route to get started even though my inverter is blue it is not "that" blue.
