    I need to build my own 24 Volt lithium battery for my 4x4. I am trying to source cells. I have two options, buy locally, or import from China.
    Buying locally:
    Does anyone know of supplier in South Africa that supplies LiFePO4 Prismatic Cells? I previously bought from Lithium Battery SA but they no longer sell individual cells.
    Importing from China:
    I can also buy in China and ship it to SA, but I am worried about the import duties. Has anyone recently bought cells from China? If so what was the import duties charged and can you recommend a reputable supplier? I have looked at https://off-grid-garage.com/batteries/ for recommended suppliers.

    Hi There,

    Sorry I might be a bit late for the subject, but if anyone else has this problem in the future, this is what I did:
    Disabled the COM port in Device Manager, rebooted the machine, then re-enabled the COM port in Device Manager. Opened the Battery View software again, and it worked

    I think, this is a great topic & with reference a new Main board for this machine costs at least R7k & there abouts. So I think if you can overcome the challenges as stated above there is much to be gained. The guys in technical at Segen Solar for this reason just replace the main board with a new one. Mainly because it costs them far less for that board & when labour costs of a skilled technician has to do this it all adds up.

    Hi, i have a max7. 2 with error code 09. There is a short circuit across the dc bus due to 2 legs in the ac bridge being blown to short circuit. Each leg has 2 igbts.  The  igbts from the other two bridge legs passes the static tests as per service manual. 
    Is really required to replace all 8 of the bridge igbt's as per service manual, or is it ok to replace the faulty four only.? 
    Also, what is the best way of removing the transistors. Desoldering all components  on the hosting heatsink, and lift out the entire subassembly ? Unscrewing the faulty transistors from the heatsink seems to be a challenging if not impossible task. 
    Any experience to share?

    I think the issue is that for so-called off-grid models, utility power has to flow through the unit, via the transfer switch if you like. The transfer switch is essentially two 40 A relays (for 5 kVA models) on the main PCB, so all the AC-in and AC-out current flows through PCB tracks. These seem to be sized for the rated output of the inverter, not for the 40 A that the relay contacts are rated to carry.
    I think if they connected the relays via appropriate bus bars or a separate PCB with extra thick PCB traces off the main PCB and tweaked the firmware slightly, then it could and would operate as we expect it to, i.e. when bypassing, it can bypass up to 40 A or some 9 kVA, even though the main DC-AC converter is only rated for 5 kVA.
    Most models have a "bypass on overload" setting, which doesn't make much sense if you can't bypass any more current than you can invert.

    As far as I know all Kodak's don't have let through so it can not let through more than 5kw no matter if there is grid or not.
     
    I stand to be corrected if there are new models or a model I don't know about that can let through more than its name plate rating. Eg 5kw battery and solar then an extra say 2kw from grid to make it a "7kw"

    Some more feedback on this Rodeo: Pylontech has accepted the warranty claim & released the original amount paid, well happy to say that this case is now closed and Pylontech have honored the warranty, I think I will have to delete my negative comments, and hope this product keeps on doing its job 🤔

    Menu option 13 is the back to battery voltage. Check this setting is at a value below what your current battery voltage is at. What this setting represents is the value set point at which the inverter will come out of bypass and go to SBU or blend between Solar and Battery and leave the Grid alone. 
    The inverter logic will only get to blend between Solar and battery if your current voltage of the battery is above this value. Otherwise I'm afraid you will not get the inverter out of bypass. This is a hard set programmable value.
