  1. It is like the series -The curse of oak island -where they constantly go digging in "The money pit " area hoping to find hidden treasure buried by the Knights Templar. Treasure has long gone with all the other Pirates and the treasure chests laden with gold are now faded broken down copper coins and brass buttons and the government wants a 50 % share in all future findings.
  2. I had an EVT system experience in our previous house. Changed to PV heat water system with ptc element in current house as the EVT system gave problems all the time.It was not regulated (IOT).It got too hot in summer. The non returned valve packed up(inner melted). The brass pump stopped(sediment) and high pressure protection valve went too. The PV system allows for 2 HWC's or 1 HWC and one Battery bank charge. The EVT system can only heat water. The PV system gives you more options IMO. Installed on a PI yes I agree.I have not got there yet.
  3. Gas cooking,Solar water heating PV or thermal and the IOT to control/monitor the devices.
  4. @Elbowhave you done any Youtube research on the AMI meter? I did and did not like the meter after that and to make things worse you have to pay upfront and a monthly fee.
  5. Something to consider and check ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNXqozR_kAk&t=182s

  7. Axperts required 2 sets to run in parallel mode. I only have 1 current sharing and 1 parallel comms cable. Anyone in CT or ZA have a set of cables they want to part with?
  8. @energy I found what I was looking for after an extensive search Thank you. FG
  9. Hi Admin, I was looking for images for the Axpert parallel setup, but the is an image limit I see in the image department. If it is a space or download limit, could you not supply image links per forum member instead or random pics. Great Forum and great folks. Thank you. FG
  10. I take it your Axperts are Pf 0.8 (2015 model) and the firmware are at a version where SOC is an issue hence all the battery issues. An assumption that is.
  11. I will have 4.4 kw on a 4.6 kw gti non hybrid on a 60 amp prepaid meter too.My hybrid is an Axpert with a bank only.AC charged. All Self consumption.
  12. Thanks @Riaanh. I agree that is the answer.I will attempt that before give more money to the "beast" MS
  13. Thank you @Analytical.I did have that issue, but after the 3rd SD card and too many redo's.I will find out if I can swop for a windows key instead. Not going thru the pain again.
  14. Has anyone had success with ICC running on a usb flash or ssd. My SD media on Pi 3b bombs after a disconnect or even a shutdown.I am tired redoing the ICC image on to the card. I attempted the "conversion to flash" but alas no joy. It has reached the "gatvol" stage and thinking Vensters might be a bad option after all....
  15. Spammers will love the fact that you have posted your cell number. Dialing code starting with 031 comes to mind.
  16. @Rautenk Thank you. Do you perhaps have a link where we can view the Coct diagram and equipment required . I am sure many off grid Axpert users will be happy to get this change over switched method provided in the YouTube link approved. Providers of these inverter models should also be encouraged then to sell the "kit" as it could be packaged. The Axpert users are being nailed now so there should be a kit to patch the "hole".
  17. The element is designed for the Heat Tech HWC.The rubber seal must just be cut to match the current seal. The stainless PTC element is longer so three hands needed to hold in place while screwing down the flange.
  18. Geyserwise dc/ac element.I just did one last week.Cutting the rubber seal is the only pain, but worked on 2nd attempt.
  19. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJ3_OyOl06Y @RautenkIs this not the answer then for the Axpert connected to grid and solar?

  21. @plonksterThe solar panels require earthing.I thought a new earth spike would do the trick.
  22. @plonksterThank you. I am assuming it is a TN-C-S earthing system. I can only see live and Neutral come up from the source to the MCB in the box in an armored sleeve. I live in an area with overheads. I see 3 phases and a Neutral in the image.
  23. @plonksterThank you. On the topic of earthing and earth spikes. Can one have more than one.I assume 3 m apart and lots moisture surrounding it and at a dept of 3m? I see a loosely connected earth cable on the Utility side box connected to the water supply(copper strap) I cannot find an earth spike on the property? Could I purchase earth more spikes and sink it and link that to the house and the panels? I still have metal electrical conduits in the roof.
  24. How do we know this is passing inspection?
  25. Thanks @SolarNoobI think it would be cheaper to plug it into an old UPS I have after replacing the 7ah battery.
