There are some water meters with a little pocket next to the counter and you push a probe in the hole which sends out pulses. The CBi Nano view has got that function and it display water consumption and have a leak alarm option also. Can the Nano export data/alarms to your home assistant?

What about a couple of m of P2000 rail? It is mostly available from electrical suppliers. You can mount it to the rafters with threaded bar and it will make that the poly sheets can expand under the panels. Nb if you make a hole in the poly sheet, make it a as big as possile as long as long as it doesn't stick out under the washer. A 6.6m long poly sheet"s expansion is enough to break tec screws when it gets cold. To stop the plate from ratting I put a piece of conduit, cut to length under the ridge with just enoug tension so that the sheet can float.

I don't know if this boils down to the same scenario. When my Li alarm battery "died", the bms shut down due to being over dischaged. To get the dead battery alive again, I paraled another battery with it and connected a battery charger. After a couple of minutes I removed the spare battery and the charger continued to charge the deab battery. This just to fool the bms to wake up. I hope it works for you too.

There is a major flash on its way, due to reverse polarity. The + "now flash" and - " big arc" fault indicating devices are installed wrong way around. LoL

Bonny999 please confirm where your RCD/EL is, is it before your inverter or after the inverter (between inverter and load)? If I remember correctly it is best to use a Type B Rcd in a system with a inverter. Can you maybe borrow, beg or steal a meggar from somebody and test for any leakage down to earth? Happy hunting. Sounds to me like fear mongering. Are these guys in bed with your local municipality? The in my valley the ELM cannot even organize a piss up in a brewery. Aha, so somebody found the missing substation for which the Pretoria rate payers paid about R250mil. That one for which all the plans and paperwork were completed and signed off but the stand was empty and no substation could be found. HaHa

For me to save average of 2kw grid consumption per day, will cost met about R30k + in extra battery expense. I dont think its worth it for me. But when the grid is down I can switch of 1 fridge and move its contents into the other. Then we"ll be 99.9% there. Have we as humans got so used to all the luxuries that we cannot make 1 or 2 small sacrifices when the shtf? I wonder.

To the best of my knowledge, to have East West arrays on a single input is not best practice. Or am I wrong? To the original poster: at wat time is your current battery fully charged? What is your baseload? Wouldn't it be better to first raise your battery capacity, till you run out of charging capacity and then do the panels?

How limited is you roof space? Otherwise it might be time to put a "roof" over a porch of build a carport?

Is there a way to get to the geyser supply valve? Time to trim the hot water supply with the excuse somebody spent to long under the shower. LoL At a time I wanted to build a plc setup, flow meter starts the process, after 10min the solenoid on the hot water supply will close. It will open again after lets say 15min for another 10min etc. But my plan was sort of enough of a deterrent to shower faster. But he still opened the water to a roaring waterfall even with a flow restrictor in. It would have been nice to use a flow meter to close the valve after lets say 30 liters of hot water, the user can decide 10min at 3 liter per min or 3 minutes at 10 liter per minute. But now he stays in his own place and pays for everything himself and now he showers in record time.

Do you use low flow shower roses? That reduces your water and electricity consumption. Install a flow restrictor as test but tell nobody. The people with the long hair sometimes moan it is difficult to rinse the soap out of their hair but the get used to rinsing a little bit longer.

What if the 10 in series is safely under the V max: What configuration will start generation earlier and continue later? Do better during overcast? My 10 JA 535w 50v panels are connected 5 per string on two inputs (5kw Sunsynk inverter). The input string V is most of the time less than 210V and I have never seen it more than 230V (on a bright cold winter morning). The highest production I've seen was 4800w. I don't have any issues with my current setup, even on overcast days the base load gets covered and the battery gets charged by 13h00, where its normally charged before 10h00. But my panels are at 10 deg angle. 8 panels with brackets to 25 deg would have cost me the same as 10 panels flat on rails.
