shaun99 got a reaction from Scorp007 in Deye 8kw inverte wifi module doesnt power onSo to recap, I removed c9 and my wifi logger is back on. I am going to draw this circuit for that board, however, I think c9 was dead short but I don't have a connection that seems to use it. I'll replace it when I can find a replacement.

shaun99 got a reaction from Skillet in Volta Stage one BMS SoftwareHi. I'm struggling with my setup..
Deye5kw and 2x Volta Stage1 Pro batteries.
I turned everything off, connected battery power cables, disconnected the comms cable from the inverter, then connected the link cable into the one battery IN port, the other end into the other battery OUT port, and connected the comms cable to the PCS port on the battery where the OUT port is now occupied. Turned on the battery with the PCS one first, the leds do a good green KITT impression and settle. Then I turn on the second battery, both batteries doing a Cylon impression with the green lights switching left right and eventually settling. I turn on the inverter and it starts up after about 2 mins.
I am not able to communicate proppperly over the canbus to read the battery states. The LCD on the inverter doesn't show two batteries. These batteries don't have dip switches and are aparently smart and can set their bus address themselves.
What am I doing wrong?
There are no instructions on how to connect the second battery of this type. The Deye and Solarman apps allow control sort of. I'm worried I'm damaging the batteries.
Please can someone advise

shaun99 reacted to TheMac in DIN rail mount AC indicators - fusedI don't know where you are from but Maple Leaf Electrical Supplies in Boksburg have them for cheap. The guys there are really nice.
Brite Lighting in Benoni also has some.
Or just search for "Onesto LED Indicators" online.
I know even electrical supply places in smaller towns tend to keep Onesto products.

shaun99 reacted to TheMac in DIN rail mount AC indicators - fusedThe 9mm Onesto Indicators that I used are really cheap; R38 to R45 in general so I assume taking one apart won't be much of a risk. The only inconvenience I see with the idea of "retrofitting" a fuse to the indicators would be the pain of taking them apart again to replace a fuse.
A blade fuse might be helpful for that package depending if there is enough "sideways" space for it.

shaun99 reacted to Tim P in My Sunsynk 8kw silence hackI am amazed by how well this hack works!
I installed this the cheap and nasty way.
Bought 4 x 12cm Ø cooling fans on bid or buy . co . za for R50 each.
Cable tied them together
Used an old 12v 2000mAh CCTV power supply and connected the 4 fans together.
I'm seeing approximately 15 degrees lower temperatures!
My inverter is installed inside a cupboard so I plan to use another 2 fans to push hot air vertically through the top of the cupboard. There is a ±30mm gap on the bottom of the cupboard so it should pull cool air in from the bottom and hot "exhaust" air to go out the top. Thus cooling it even further.

shaun99 reacted to hilt_ctn in My Sunsynk 8kw silence hackFor a standalone installation ( i.e. no HA reliance ), you can certainly use a dallas temp sensor to do the reading.
Some random googling:
This isn't using ESPhome or actioning PWM, but only to point out that it can be done. This is a someone who has created some code and left a place holder for a dallas. His needs are a bit more complex than what's required here. Again though, just to show it can be done For me it would have been moot as HA already has a sensor I could work with that's accurate i.e. the inverter temp
I ended up using 3x 80mm Cooler Master Sickleflow fans as affordable 92mm PWM fans seem to be like Hen's teeth !

shaun99 reacted to Muttley in My Sunsynk 8kw silence hackHi guys,
I stumbled upon an automation within Home Assistant's HACS that claims to auto adjust the fan speed based on a certain temp.
I don't really have a need for this but perhaps it would be useful for some here:
HACS ->Automation -> + Explore & Download Repositories -> Search for "Auto Fan"
or

Yes, even go as far as installing it before the main CB in the DB
