Pylontech not charging from grid
Thank you @Youda - just uploaded screenshots if that may help. If I may ask, why did the batteries not stop supplying power to stop it running too low.

Hi all I have 2 pylontech US Plus batteries connected to my Infini inverter... been running for just over a year. Now I don't know if it is because of the last week of almost no sun but suddenly my inverter battery icon flashes empty and the batteries SOC lights are dead. For the last day or two the power keeps tripping and inverter shows error 02 saying DC bus voltage falls below the lower threshold. And it seems the batteries are not being charged via grid even thou I have this option selected in the inverter software. Has anyone experienced similar issues and is there an easy explanation? Would really appreciate your views.- Multi string or second inverter
Thanks guys... thought no one replied as I didn’t get email and had not logged in due to this... both options seem workable although the diode seems a cheaper option?- Multi string or second inverter
Hi All I've received very valuable input from members here before so this is obviously my first stop for advise now that I'm looking to expand. I have a 3.6kw Infini hybrid grid-tied inverter with a string of eleven 245 w panels (bought the system secondhand). I have a single Pylontech US2000B Plus connected. The string is north facing but gets shade in the afternoon so I thought it would be clever to add another string to the second floor roof facing west, and connecting the two in-series string in parallel (and adding another pylontech to last longer outages). It seems this will not work as the lowest voltage (the shaded string then) dictates maximum output voltage. So I read a multi string inverter may be a solution, but seems costly. Is there any workable option that won't cost an arm and a leg? Thanks Jaco- Infini 3kw no batteries tripping on startup
You may be right Jaco but for the life of me I cannot find a setting which switches the grid off in the mornings😬. The inverter did trip again last night at 19h30 with hardly anything pulling power😞- Infini 3kw no batteries tripping on startup
@plonkster @Jaco de Jongh @The Terrible Triplett guys, thank you for all your assistance. To recap, I had an issue with my hybrid, grid-tied Infini 3.6kW inverter tripping every morning at around 7 am. For some reason the inverter tried to run on PV only (no battery connected to the set-up) and clearly it was too early to get sufficient sunlight to carry even the lightest of loads. @The Terrible Triplett suggested it could be the incoming grid power that dipped and caused the inverter to trip. The solution was suggested as getting a battery connetced. So yesterday I connected a single Pylontech and this morning for the first time in the month since I had the set-up installed the inverter did not trip, so seems the cause was noisey incoming power! Last question on this tread: my inverter has the following setting: "Activate Li-Fe battery while commisioning" (see picture). Should this be set to yes for the pylonteck?- Infini 3kw no batteries tripping on startup
So I've got a KETO Battery Disconnector with 2 x 125A Fuses but I just connect one in the positive cable, right. Safe to just cut the included Pylontech cable or would you add length and another cable? If I add length, should I also lengthen the negative cable?- Infini 3kw no batteries tripping on startup
@Jaco de Jongh @plonkster gentleman I've just had my Pylontech delivered this morning but note the communication cable will not fit into my Infini communication outlets (saw an adaptation on this forum linked to a German site which I may try at a later stage). I also note the Pylontech instruction manual connects the battery straight to the inverter, with no fuses/breakers. So two questions if I may tap your knowledge banks again please: can I go without the communication for now? Can I connect the batteries directly to the inverter? Perhaps the Pylontech already has built-in fuses?- Infini 3kw no batteries tripping on startup
I decided against that option, not above board. So will go with single Pylontech for now and build it up. Again, thank you to this community for great, great advice and input!- Infini 3kw no batteries tripping on startup
Thank you Jaco. I may be able to pick up a Huawei 100a Lithium-ion at a very good price so will have a look at it tomorrow.- Infini 3kw no batteries tripping on startup
@Jaco de Jongh These are from First National Battery Jaco - see screenshot @plonkster I am now leaning towards the Pylon with the view of adding to it when I can... best place to buy?- Infini 3kw no batteries tripping on startup
@plonkster learning at the rate of knots 😣 .Will a single pylontech rack not be limited to 1.2 kWh? Quote from website: Deliver up to 5KW* with single module (2.4KWh) - * please note this value is inverter/charger dependant, typically the maximum achieved value is 1.2kW per battery". At the same price, 4X 200A 12v can deliver 4.8 kW? Agreed though that the lifespan on a pylon will be much longer.- Infini 3kw no batteries tripping on startup
