  1. Thanks! I am hoping for the best!
  2. Thanks! Are you on a pre-paid meter? If so what happens when Goodwe exports power?
  3. Having declared your Victron investments like a true Gentleman Sire - - feel free to comment further.
  4. What is the view on Goodwe ES? It does not have the set-up options of Victron and is not a tinkerers paradise but I hear it is a quality build. If you have one letโ€™s hear about your experience and of course Victron owners can comment!
  5. Congrats! - if I recall you are using an Infinisolar . Let us know how it performs.
  6. Good Luck! Exciting times!
  7. Thanks. Is your solar system installed as yet?
  8. I will take a set Please....
  9. "On mine this bit is not set on." How do you know this?
  10. I also have a Landis Sabre ED - it would be useful to hear if anyone else is using solar with these meters.
  11. That is reassuring! Thank You.
  12. Thanks! I am taking very gentle steps into the world of solar ! So for Newbies if I use an inverter with Pay as you go meter are my lights going to go off sporadically? How do I avoid this with a Victron inverter or Goodwe? Will this feed back to the meter damage the meter?
  13. Is anyone using a pre-paid meter with an inverter. Evidently even though export is set to Zero when the load suddenly drops the inverter can export to the meter causing the meter to switch off power. See below: My pre-paid meter is very sensitive for reverse current, so if there is a large shift in power, like a kettle switching off, the system can export power for a short time. That cause the pre-paid meter to disconnect power for 30 seconds. One expert in another forum commented: Monitoring the flow of power and controlling it to meet a parameter are cornerstones of control loop theory. That same theory tells us that a control loop cannot work (be closed) unless there is a small error. Think about ABS and Traction Control. They are reactionary, they only activate and do something about it once a problem is detected. Until that time they can do nothing.Stopping exporting is essentially the same thing. Its only once you are exporting that you can pull in the reigns and stop generating power. So when things change there is a short period of export until the electronics detect this and back off production back "towards" zero. Depending on the extent of the load change and export overshoot this can vary from a few cycles to a few seconds.I suspect that this would be a characteristic of all inverters to a greater or lesser extent.

    Thanks!
  15. Best place to buy a CG? (Carlo Gavazzi with RS485 to USB )
  16. Thanks! So what precisely in plain non-tech English is the existing regulation so we can all comply. We all want to install legal systems!
  17. Very confusing!
  18. Thanks . So What does it cost to upgrade from 60A to 80A?
  19. A lot has been posted about this but I am confused on one issue: To protect the grid one must not tie an inverter with a maximum output of more than 3.5 KW. But there are inverters on the approved list with far higher outputs - Goodwe is one at 4.6KW. Can someone please clarify?

By the time I have paid for the Pylontech's I can afford half a panel!๐Ÿ˜€ So if I plead poverty and take AGM's can I use them with the Multiplus-II with a life expectancy of ..cycles? I originally planned to use the inverter by day and Escom at night to keep battery costs down.

Probably looking at Trojans if you guys agree? Would love lithium's but budget is tight.. If Trojans 6V or 12V - 6V the more popular?
