  1. Last weekend I changed the mainboard and yesterday I startet the inverter. But as I turned the solar-input switch at the bottom of the inverter to "on" I heard a sizzle at the same second and a little smoke came out of the right upper side of the inverter. Now the inverter goes in an endless reboot loop and shows "error 03" which means "dc bus voltage soft-start is time-out" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRCGIXGHVo8 here is the error log from solarpower software Now I sent the video to MPP-Solar support with the question, at which area I should search for the damage. At my first view to the (new) mainboard I couldn't find any damages, but I guess the failure comes somewhere from the solar-input side because the smoke was there after I turned the solar-switch. Do you have any ideas? Now I am curious what the MPP-Solar support may answer.
  2. The new mainboard for my MPI 10k arrived positive: shipping war very quick and took only 1 week from Taiwan to Germany negative: 110 USD shipping costs have to paid from me Here it is. Seems that it's a new revision with a slightly different pcb layout I 'm going to insert the new mainbord these days and hope, that my MPI 10k will run again after this repair
  3. after several discussions MPP solar is willing to provide a new mainboard for free but with shipping costs of USD 110. They do not accept it is within warranty time but a one-time goodwill. I think it is because I write the process of warranty transaction of MPP Solar public at this forum (and others too) With this clarified I took the service / disassembly manual and searched for the mentioned mainboard of the MPI 10k -> Download of the service manual as pdf it is the left pcb with the big coils and heatsinks on it I took pictures of all cables I had to remove so I can assemble the inverter later on the right way here it is at the back side I found an area with a damaged / non-existant resistor and some white dust around. The service manual says this is the "INV/REC module" for the "S-Phase". I guess the IGBT above is damaged and produces the short at the 230V AC side which is causing my problems with the falling circuit protection I wrote MPP-Solar back with this new knowledge and pictures, let's see what's going next. btw. speaking of warranty: I wonder, why MPP Solar only gives 1 Year of warranty to the end-user because Voltronic, the original manufacturer gives 2 years warranty to their reseller. This means that with a failure between 1 and 2 years Voltronic replaces the defective part for free to MPP Solar but they cash up the customer. So I've done a little research which reseller gives how much warranty time: Voltronic 2 years (I asked them via mail) FSP 5 / 3 years MPP Solar 1 year EASun 1 year (down at the footer of their website) Infinisolar 2 years (see Italian website)
  4. I had contact via mail with MPP-Solar. They told me to make some tests and I made a video of this and send it to MPP-Solar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4C5Q8QVvm4 After analyzing the video they suggest that the mainboard is defective. It is sad for me that the inverter dies after 11 month of usage only, but much more sad that they now say I have to pay for the spare parts although the failure is within the warranty. At this point I am very disappointed of MPP-Solar and I don't know if I should recommend inverters from Voltronic any more when other people are asking me 😞 But I still hope we can find a solution - and I will keep you up to date
  5. I now got in contact with MPP solar to tell the problem and now we will see, how their support and warranty works. I will tell you here about the progress
  6. ok thanks. The AXPerts are identical to the MPP Solar PiP, right?
  7. my MPP Solar MPI 10k seems to be broken 😭 Maybe someone can help? -> MPP Solar / Infinisolar MPI 10k hybrid inverter died - fuse goes off when synchronizing with grid
  8. Hello, after one year of usage my MPI 10k seems to be defective. Without grid connection it runs fine, but when I connect to the grid then the external fuse (Siemens 3x B16A) goes off. at minute 0.50 - I double and triple checked all the wire connections including grounding and external circuit breaker - I changed the fuse to a slower "C" rated model - grid voltage is stable round about 230 volts I changed the three phase wires in all possible combinations to avoid wrong connection B / G / S fuse off S lights up in Siemens fuse G / B / S Error 09 line phase loss G / S / B fuse off B lights up in Siemens fuse B / S / G Error 09 line phase loss S / B / G fuse off G lights up in Siemens fuse S / G / B Error 09 line phase loss B = brown phase wire = phase 1 G = grey phase wire = phase 2 S = black phase wire = phase 3 Do you have some idea what's wrong or what could be defective? Thanks and regards Stefan

  10. unfortunately I have to say, that two of the small BMS JK-BD6A20S-10P are dead after a few weeks of usage in my 16s powerwall at the garage both seem to have "lost" some batteries. The first BMS lost batteries no. 01, 02 and 09 I first checked the cable connections. I checked it twice and three or four times but could not find any problem. So I replaced the whole cables but the problem staied. At the end I replaced the bms with the same, new type of BMS but after few weeks it losts some batteries too, this time no. 01 and 16 Again I checked all cables but could not find any problem so defnitely a failure of the BMS. Maybe a bad charge of production. In total I am using seven of this exact identical BMS and the others run just fine, some of them non-stop since one year. I contacted the seller on Aliexpress, D.YU.K.B and Dykbhuang Store and he agreed to refund the two defective BMS after sending it back and so I did so But because he did not confirmed the arrival of the package in time, the dispute was closed autimatically and there is no refund. I wrote several times via contact form and the seller agreed one more time to refund the defective devices but now, six weeks later there are still just some delaying tactics and no refund. I guess it's my fault because I thought the chinese seller has some honor and will hold his word, but it seems this is not true. So all I can do now is warn you about this seller. I guess next time I need a smart BMS or active balancer I will order at ICGOGOGO again. It's three or four bucks more expensive, but service is definitely better. p.s.: my powerwall at the garage is now up and running since two month with the third BMS and works very well to charge my EV

  12. Hi, as far as I know, and I am reading tons of information about DIY solar in several forums, there is no one out there who officially registered a DIY battery in Germany successfully. You will need some certificates that the whole system is checked by an official testing center like, for example, a new car before it comes to the marked. - devices like inverter and charger: "VDE-AR-N4105 Einheitenzertifikat" and CE-certificate - additional: overload protection against lightnings including certificate "VDE-AR-N4105 NA-Schutz" Without these certificates no electrician will subscribe the needed application forms for the electricity company. What you can do is: - install the photovoltaic system for your own - install inverter / charger / surge protections and so on for your own - if all the devices have the needed certificates then you can register the system without batteries - after successful registration you add the batteries, there is no further inspection if the hardware changes
  13. thanks, but got the source: it's via official site of MPP Solar https://www.mppsolar.com/v3/download/ -> scroll down to "Monitoring Software"
  14. oh. Now I did. Thanks very much
  15. As I know now: no it is not possible unless they are same model and you are using the modbus server. May you have a look at his thread? I need some advice and help -> Infinisolar E 5.5 KW problems: shuts down at overload without restart and sometimes no recharge after empty battery
  16. Hello, I am running an Infinisolar E 5.5 KW for about three months. Setup: - 8 PV-panels with 2,8KWp total in one string (next year I plan to double the modules) - grid tied in parallel mode with backup battery - DIY LiIon battery out of 18650 cells with total of 48V and 7,5KWh So the mainfunction are working, most of the time. But I discovered a few misfunctions / bad conditions so far 1. the fans are spinning all the time, even at night when there is no sun-energy to convert and just about 250 watts of IDLE energy for the house. Shouldn't they shut down when there is no power-request? Or can I modify the fanspeed / temperature control somehow? 2. now the bad-weather-days just began and the photovoltaik system can't fully charge the battery over day so it runs out of energy sometime at night. Last week the sun didn't came out for three days and as I looked at the battery the voltage dropped to 29V which is very below the 46V cutoff voltage I set into the inverter settings. So what happened? I am pretty sure that the inverter cuts the battery off at 46V but standby consumption and the permanentely spinning fans are sucking the batteries empty as I can see a steady consumption of 0,2A at my battery monitoring system. Is there a possibility to change this behavior? 3. three or for times since the beginnings I noticed that when there comes a huge power request (for example today I cooked with all of the four electric hotplates and the oven) then sometimes the inverter seems to cut of the battery for some reason and won't use it again unless I restart the inverter. The max discharge current is set to 55A at the inverter and 65A at the BMS of the battery, the fuse between battery and inverter is 63A, the batterie voltage was 52,2V as I discovered the failure (Cut off set to 46V). Can you explain why this happenes? Oh, and as I mentioned in this thread I would be happy if someone could send me the factory password so I can set the "max feed into grid power" to a lower value so it fits the wire and fuse Thanks very much for your help
  17. I need the factory password too for my Infinisolar E 5.5KW to lower the "max feed in grid power" from 5.500W to 3.600W because the wire from the inverter to the main main surge protection box is just for 16amps = 3.700W Would be very helpfull if somebody PN me the password. Thanks very much
