  1. Hi Mike I am more than comfortable with this explanation. Regards Ignatius
  2. Hi SN The bracket is exactly this one. http://www.takealot.com/ultra-link-32-63-tv-wall-bracket-black/PLID38258213 I even googled the code and showed him. He just said that is what he paid. He should be getting it cheaper. He definitely tried to rip me off. Regards Haggers
  3. Hi SN, Mike compared them to Yinglis above.
  4. So just to add, I dnt mind paying the correct amount for labour(just be upfront about this) and even small premium of the convenience of the contractor bringing all the components, i just dnt like getting ripped off like in my example above.
  5. Hi guys Didnt mean to offend anyone. Let me give you an eg. of my experience. So I recently put up a new tv but it needed to go on a dry wall and I was concerned o couldnt do it properly. Got an external company to come and do the job, he tried to charge me R2k for the bracket and I told him im not willing to pay that price. he kept to the story this is what he paid for it even though i showed him the bracket on takealot for r950. we then agreed i will buy it and return it to him as stock. PS, his call out fee was R600 for less than an hour's work which I was more than happy to pay.
  6. Hi Plonkster I acknowledge I have a problem yes. I have not tested yet how accurate the efergy unit is ... will do so when I have enough data to compare. I use on average 2000 units a month I think. I bought the efergy unit to determine where I use all the electricity - I have been working on reducing first .. still in process though. Disadvantage of large property, 3 adults, 3 kids, 4 pump motors, 2 geyser I guess. Always open to ideas. Regards Haggers
  7. Hi SN Thanks so much for the response. Shoo, I thought this was a taboo topic as I just saw views but no responses. Not sure if the above covers all the necessary switchovers etc. Prices are those I have been able to find on the net - cheapest I could find after tons of research. For example 3kw replus R16,600 but direct from Renesola for R14k - also included R500 delivery from Midrand warehouse. Just waiting for a further improvement in the Rand then cheaper:) Same with the Renesola panels, just pick up at warehouse in Bellville (how do these panels operate in our heat/sunshine?). Not sure where you get the battery prices - those are pretty good, mind sharing:) How do I work out what I need? Don't mind using Eskom once correct DOD level is reached ... don't need to be totally off grid, just want to first and foremost reduce reliance on Eskom and build up some back up thereafter. Herewith a typical picture of my usage - I may be undercooking the sizing materially?: Solar Geyser at 5 for top up and 4 again - think I have an issue with the thermostat or something. Pond pump from 9-10 Pool pump 10-3pm Irrigation pond various 2nd geyser at 6pm Plenty outside lights when dark
  8. Hi, thanks for the response. will need to get someoone out then.
  9. Hi guys Need some help to trouble shoot. Bought a new place which has the geyser connected to geyserwise and solar flatplate and thermo siphon. at the moment, there is no correlation between the temp on the geyserwise and what is coming out the geyser? this means my electricity tops up geyser even of not needed. possible thermostat issue or siphon not working ? Thanks
  10. Hi guys So I have been doing some research and then I saw this. Granted it includes a Tesla system but what is a reasonable cost for a 3kw system? As I have it: Inverter - 3kw Replus Sineon / Infini - R14k Batteries - 8 x 6v Trojan 225ah - R16k (Smaller than above yes but lets say I double up?) Solar panels 12 x renesola 305w - R33k Cabstrut mounting and labour/COC etc - R17k max I think So R80k total What am I missing - or tesla worth the premium
  11. Haggers replied to Mike's topic in Inverters
Mike, so you use Replus but not Infinisolar? the 3kw Replus has identical specs to the infini 3kw plus and the replus is 2k cheaper in the power store. Would be interested in your input?
  12. Hi, for 26 or more these are R7 per watt excl delivery from eastern cape. Renesola about R7.4 per watt and they have a warehouse close by so I think they may work out the same. How do these panels compare?
  13. Hi, need some help to reduce electrical usage. Have 4 pumps, 1 wellpoint to pond, 1 pump from pond to garden via irrigation, 1 pump on pool, 1 pump on fish pond. Costs me an arm ... bought the house like this. Thanks in adv
  14. Yes correct Mike, any experience with these panels? Dnt know how to post the specs
  15. Haggers replied to cvzyl's topic in Inverters
    Subscribed;)
  16. Hi guys, any experience with the above? I see they have one branch locally as well. What is the quality compared to renesola etc I hear they quite reasonably priced as well. Thanks
  17. Hi Wetkit, dnt have the infinisolar yet ... but wanted to understand how long batteries take to recharge to determine ah size.
  18. As an aside, im trying to figure out how long batteries take to charge. Is there a guide or something? My thinking is ... Infinisolar max charge 25Amp Sonic gel must be charged at 24A (my understanding) 4 x 100ah sonic gel battery bank 48v Assume 50% dod Assume 80% efficiency of charger 10-12 hours?
  19. Hi, I guess you also got trojans at battery pitstop - will phone them. Not much difference between trojan vs sonic gel ito pricing per ah. Concerned about thr maintenance but how do you avoid overload/ overcharging?
  20. Hi Wetkit, thanks. How much did you get the Trojan's for and why did you take these over gel batteries? I understand gel batteries have lower maintenance.
  21. Hi, most prob then an OEM plus model of the infini but seems like one on steroids as the grid relay added allows additional output. Spoke to salesmen from Mpp solar. Looks like landed cost of about R18k ... anyone install this or local supplier?
  22. Hi Wetkit, thanks so much? Pic of what you talking about? When you speak of another site, does that mean you are doing installations?
  23. Carl you could install a switch over between the battery banks?
  24. Oh and Solar Gel should say Sonic Gel.
  25. Hold, i guess the solar gel is 1kw and the trojan 0.9kw and the gel batteries are lower maintenance?
