I can't find updated versions on the Sunsynk site, but my copies are here.

That diode protection certainly works well if there is only one such string. I'm questioning myself, if there are two or more strings in parallel, the string with a faulty panel will have less output voltage than the other(s). That would result in significantly less output power - wouldn't it? And as less sun power is converted to electricity the panels would heat up faster than the others thus reduce output voltage even more.

True, but that would be a minor effect, only a few percent. a 20% efficient panel is absorbing as heat 80% of the sun's energy already. If one third of a panel was shaded and produced zero output, that would mean that the panel absorbed 87% instead of 80%, a ratio of 1.09. Also, the zero-output third would not conduct its heat very well to the other thirds, losing a lot of heat to the surrounding air before it could heat up the active cells.
