My system has been installed and started running the last couple of days.

I have the following.

1 x 8kw Sunsynk Inverter
16 x 420w Canadian Solar Panels
2 x CBI Astutes (For geyser timers)
Riot Cloudlink

I still have my generator connection if needed with a change-over switch. We decided to leave the gen change-over instead of connecting it to the gen input on the inverter.

Let the data logging begin.

This might be able to help you. Check out new2sola4's Post on 14 Oct. They have an 8kW sunsynk too.

Thanks i followed that posts. Still getting Device not found errors when trying to claim the device.  Created a ticket with hubble support on 27 Dec already.

Can anyone confirm how the RIOT Cloudlink should be connected to the hubble? What cable should go where?

I never managed to get my new RIOT to communicate with my Sunsynk 8k.
Very sad 😭

I did log a call with [email protected] but still not resolved.
Perhaps @HubbleLithium can advise.

With one AM-2 battery connected to an 8.8K inverter, don't forget to set the MAX current draw on battery settings to no more than 100A, possibly even down to 95A. When funds are available maybe get a second AM-2 to be able to fully supply the inverter.

Welcome to the world of power independence, looking good. :)👍

Anyone managed to get RIOT to work with SunSynk 8k using RS485/MUL port?

Seems like vaporware.

I got a reply from Hubble regarding how to connect the cloudlink to the battery and inverter. In short, they said that no ethernet cable supports full monitoring ATM. They have another cable they can send me that connects to the RS232 port of the inverter and the S port on the cloudlink. That means that I have to remove my Sunsynk logger. WTF?

WTF indeed, you need the Synsynk RS232 logger for firmware updates.
>no ethernet cable supports full monitoring ATM
Actually the RS485/MUL port provides NO monitoring with RIOT.
The SynSynk RS458 port provides full monitoring when connected to Solar-Assistant.
@HubbleLithium please fix.

So i have this error F34 AC Overload on my 8kw inverter. It won't reset the error. There is no loads just normal 500-600w

If i restart the inverter the error comes back. Anyone any ideas ?

Just an update on this. The inverter was booked in on 10 March 2022 at Sunsynk in JHB. I received no updates or any comms from them except one mail reply to my status query that my inverter should be ready during this week. Tuesday i received my 1st call from them informing me that my inverter is repaired and i can come and collect. I collected the inverter today.

Turns out the lower PCB blew. This happened while there was a load of around 800w on the inverter while it was doing a firmware update. The technician at Sunsynk told me there must be no load on the inverter when firmware updates are being done. If that is the case they should warn you on the website when you request the update.

Anyway it is now fixed under warranty so should be good to go.
