It sounds a lot different, since you don't have panels you have a big UPS. Like all UPS it is only needed when grid is not available. Don't set any settings to use PV yet while you don't have any panels.

Since you have a big battery you might not be discharging it enough to reach back to utility setting. Check your back to battery and back to utility settings and adjust as needed.

The issue is not that the inverter does not switch back to utility, but rather that the battery is only charging at the small current of 1.5A and also only to 49.1V and not to around 54V.

I tried SUB and SNU it today.
No difference.

SNA should have been SNU in original post (typing error)

Code 4 is a warning to recharge the battery. It's not a problem. 

If the battery gets too low it triggers a grid charge otherwise it will stay at 20% overnight until the sun comes up and starts charging the battery. 

Something our Growatt has problems with settings. I am missing the following settings:
  1. When there is sun, it powers the receivers, and when there is more of it, it charges the batteries, and when there is no sun, the batteries support the sun at the same time and so all day long.
2. When it gets dark (night), I set the current of the batteries to help the power grid to power the receivers until they reach the lower, limit voltage, then they disconnect and wait for the next day for the sun to charge them.
Maybe the inverter can be set up like that, but I can't see it at the moment.

The inverter can only combine solar and battery(SBU) or solar and utility(SUB) only. 

Hello,

I have been called to look at the fault on SPF 5000es. When I switch on the inverter, the display shows fault red light 09, while the buzzer is on continuous and then the inverter goes off on its own, may I know what is the problem?

I do not understand why the generator does not work - does not charge or supply electricity to the house. Shows V and Hz but not A or KW...
 

Does anyone have a solution?
 

Hi the shine phone app for Growatt hiw does one enter the settings on the app to be able to change things. I ca not do it on my app says I'm not authorized need some password. My system is fully charged but every night at exactly the same time the solar stops working for an hour an then starts working again 

Hi, I have a Growatt SPF inverter 5000 ES. Is involved as an island. Sometimes it happens that after turning on the LED light in the house (30W) or connecting the laptop charger (50W), the inverter will switch to the error code 04, even if the SOC is 90%. The connected washing machine (2000W) or dryer (650W) is without problems. Problems are only with some appliances.

I will be grateful for any help.

Or is there a problem with the battery that BMS switches to protect mode? But why only after connecting some appliances?

Please assist I have a Growatt SPF 5000 Es inverter with 8 375w panels installed. I am running on Sol mode and the panels are able to power the house during the day, my issue is, randomly during the day Ac output voltage will start to flactuate rapidly from 226v,227v, 231v,235v and this will go on for about a minute or two and that causes my Led house lights to flicker. All the appliances will be running normal. Is this an inverter issue or inverter wiring that could be the problem?
