  1. Hi @Sats Nkamoto , yes I did some DIY builds. First using Seplos boxes and EVE LF280K cells and then some DIY aluminum boxes and JK BMSs. Here are some photos of the DIY cases: Hithium cells - Product Opinions & Reviews - Power Forum - Renewable Energy Discussion and here https://powerforum.co.za/topic/31252-143kwh-diy-battery-kit/ The cells I imported so we can negotiate on the price if you are serious.
  2. Hi @Sats Nkamoto , I am also based in Cape Town (Strand) and I have very similar setup and can assist with many things related to your The Plan. PM me if you want to get in contact and discuss some options further.

@Beat if the situation repeats, you do not have much to lose by setting the charge settings a bit lower for a test period. I would recommend trying bulk at 52V (or 51.5V) and float at 50.5V. Hope you come right.
  8. DeonBez replied to Beat's topic in Batteries
Hi @Beat Not sure what type of BMS is in the battery pack. To me it sounds like what I experienced with JBD BMSs when cell over voltage occurred. Even after the over voltage was cleared, the BMS did not reconnect by itself. I had to force it to so manually by isolating it from the other packs and then drawing current (resistance between the terminals). As soon as I connected the resistor, I heard the internal relay click and it was working as normally. The way I solved it in the long run, was by setting the charge voltage never to be higher than 55.6V (3.475V per cell) during Bulk or Boost (current charge phase) and 54V (3.375V per cell) during float. Although in your situation no alarms were showing at the time, it might have cleared already. Not an exact answer but al least an possibility... ๐Ÿค
  9. Since 2021 I used the voltage settings below (no comms between Inverters and Batteries): 55.6V (3.475V per cell): Absorption phase 55.2V (3.45V per cell): Equalization for 1 hour (and yes I know all the super intelligent says it is not for LifePo4 ... but trust me it is good for the slow cells to catch up again) 53.6V (3.35V per cell): Float Over 4 packs (i.e. 64 cells) the voltage difference is normally below 10mV

  22. @Sylwia, I built a few (around 10) of these boxes since 2021, always the horizontal stackable ones. Initially Seplos did not pack all loose components securely inside the box but this was rectified and improved significantly since. It is easy to build (simple tools) and takes around 2.5hr learning to assemble the first one and then around 1.5 hrs per box. I never had any issues with BMS balancing since I always used new EVE cells. The only real negative thing I have to mention is that a big capacity battery like this is heavy (two strong persons are required to carry it). This is true even for off the shelf batteries of similar capacity. If you want more details and also directions on other options for DIY boxes please pm me. I still have some 280Ah EVE cells and complete DIY box already manufactured if you're interested.
