Hi All,

Has anyone ever seen this firmware version on a Growatt?

i see 41.06.104 is the latest, so what is 067.01.104

The issue i am having is the fans run at 100% even when there is no load or batteries charging.

Can someone help me out? My folks just had their system installed, same inverter and I'm at their house now and the fans are running full blast for the past 30 minutes now - this is on Eskom power as well. The fans kick in a LOT, for very long durations. The installer says the inverter is working properly but I don't know it just seems excessive to me.

How do I check the firmware version? I'm not an installer so if someone can explain what I need to do to try and reduce the fan noise it would be most appreciated

  • I have been on 40.05 and 41.05 for over 4 months already. The latest apparently is the 40.06 and 41.06 dated 4 Jan 2022.

@EvandtrouxI also have two 5000 ES in parallel they are running on 040 04 301 and 041 04 301 and I'm pretty satisfied with the performance.

  • Hi, I received your message, I will email the Firmware to you.

Scroll down with the arrow keys. It's the 4th or 5th display window which will give you the firmware version. The pic below is what that display would show,
Also go through this thread and you will find the contact details of the Growatt international Rep to check for updates.
The fans will ramp up under load. Thats the reason my Inverter is in the garage.
There are silent alternatives but that silence comes at a cost and also high operating temps @WannabeSolarSparky can tell you all about that one.

I'm just trying to help out my folks. If there is a firmware that can help with this constant super high noise then that would be great. I understand the fans should be active under load but.... the fans are going full tilt, all the time. It's been going for about an hour now and we are not being load shedded. Still Eskom power.

The only appliances we using are fridge, freezer, and two LED TVs. Fans are blowing like crazy, that can't be right. Unfortunately folks could only install in their kitchen which is about 5 meters away from the lounge but my word is it noisy.

I visited the DIY Solar Power forum and people are experiencing the same problem with the fan noise going full tilt even when not under heavy load with this inverter. Updating the firmware seems to have resolved it, allegedly.

So can anyone here please comment if the firmware update has reduced the fan noise?

That may well be. From what I could fathom, that was for the 40series firmware, i.e. the original Inverters. Whether the 60 series firmware has had an update to address this I wouldn't know. Best to check with Growatt.

You can contact Amos Yang via email or on whatsapp to see if there is anything later. He is the Growatt International Rep.

Not sure if their local Rep is still around

And i had an interesting conversation with growatt.

They state that the latest firmware is 040.05

Who at Growatt gave you that info?
The last Firmware was 040.06  with 041.06
And this is for the original Inverters only.

The new versions are all 067.XX with 068.XX

Just had a new inverter installed SPF5000ES on the 31st march and came with the below version

Property: 113.01/114.01//A0B0D0T1P0U0M3S2

New firmware looks to be 113.xx and 114.xx

Hi zsde,

The discussion was with an employee from growatt support.

Maybe there are different versions of SPF5000ES

I don 't know.

Now i have to figure out how can i monitor the invertor, because the WIFI-F does not communicate anymore with the Invertor, or to be precise, it send information but the WIFI device cannot decode it.

I tried it with a local server , there is a github project that give you the possibility to install a growatt server locally.

At leas there i could do some debugging ( on Ubuntu )

There have been three versions of the 5000ES and Growatt should have changed the model number to indicate that. I regard that as neglect on their behalf for not at least changing them as Rev 2 and 3 or Neo, or whatever.
The second revision had a new comms board type but used the same firmware as the original, i.e. 40.XX and 41.XX
You had to change the comms board of the first version if you wanted to parallel with their later version.
Then last year they brought out the  latest version which has the Firmware 67.XX and 68.XX

Hi all

I'm looking new firmware 113,114..I tried fix problem with cooler noise ..and downrgrade to 67,68 firmware and ..I got error 62 ....ISP tool colud update 68 but not 67 again

I wolude be grateful for any info or firmware 113,114

🙄Another new batch of firmware for the latest 5000ES? No model or version/revision numbering of the Inverter?
This is really becoming a joke.
If anyone with a 1 or 2 year old model wishes to expand an parallel he may as well buy two new Inverters and sell the old one as the hardware changes of the older models would probably not cost much less to get them to communicate.

Hi @MikeP, did you get the firmware? If not, I can send it to you. Send me your email address.

hi

can you send me the new firmware for SPF 5000ES please

Hello every one, We have two growatt SPF5000ES inverters. One is functional but I cant bring the other online until they have the same firmware. If it isn't to much trouble could someone please send me the most recent firmware?

Hello,

Can some one send me the 40.05.xxx  firmware for my SPF 5000ES ?

The 40.06 broke the communication with the data logger.

I hope i can downgrade the firmware.

Thank you,

Good morning all,

Can you please assist with the following matter.

My setup is as follow:

2 x Growatt SPF 5000 ES inverters in Parallel

3 x Hubble AM-2

8 x Canadian Solar 550 Watt Solar Panels.

My old (1st) inverter is running FW: Slave Inverter

My new (2nd) Inverter is running FW: Host Inverter

My problem is that the old inverter constantly keeps disconnecting from the Solar Assistant and giving through false information:

There is also instances where the “old” inverter switches automatically over to “Grid Mode” while the new one remains on SBU:

It also gives me CRC error:

When all this happens, the Solar Assistant must be rebooted in order to try resolve this issue, but sometimes take several attempts. The old inverter is also not registering the same as the new one and sometimes it is picked up by the Solar assistant unit as “Unnamed Device/Unknown Device.

I have a friend with exactly the same setup and both his Growatt inverters is reading as “CP2102N USB to UART Bridge Controller” and he does not have the issues I’m having.

I have exchanged all communication cables (USB) with new ones twice, but the problem remains.

Could this possibly be rectified with a software update on the Solar Assistant Unit, or is this perhaps a faulty Solar Assistant unit?

Is it possible that the different FW of the inverters might be the issue?

Any help to resolve this matter will be highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.
