Hi KBS,

Below is what I currently have running on my 5kw Deye:

(1) From 12pm midnight to 4am the battery will power the house and potentially run down to a SoC of 40%.

(2) From 4am to 8am the same as 1 above but with the sun coming up, PV will start to run the house and charge the batteries.

(3) From 8am to 12pm solar is running the house and fully charging the batteries up to a SoC of 95% in preparedness for the coming evening.

(4) From 12pm to 4pm, what's left of solar runs the house and trickles in to the batteries charging the batteries up to a SoC of 95% in preparedness for the coming evening.

(5) From 4pm to 8pm the batteries start to discharge but this is over dinner time when there is quite a draw on the system so I only go down to a SoC of 80% (I'm still figuring out what the best SoC will be for this Time of Use as I am sure I can get to 75% and still have enough in case there is evening loadshedding).

Hope this will help you. Otherwise there may be a fault on your inverter and its not "saving" your changes.

Hi. Does this help you save on eskom? Because ours is set to 80% all round and our bill is so high

Yes it does, average daily Eskom use in summer amounts to 300w and in winter about 800w. Significantly down from pre-install setup.

Essentially we are maximising solar usage during the day and using battery at night. Whatever is the (short) sorthfall from Eskom coes from the grid.

How do you eliminate drawing power from the Grid during the day when solar panels are charging batt and supply load to the house?

Even in summer it is more than 300W per day and is using lots of units on prepaid and we installed solar to eliminate using power from the grid during the day.

Thanks

Mike

Post a picture of your timer settings. It might help to answer as settings will be the key.

Yes. Grid Peak shaving is turned on.

Would turning it off solve the problem?

I will try it once back home.

Thanks

Did this work for  you?

I have the same issue - I switch "Time of Use" off and "commit" it with the tick.  If I got out of the screen and back to the main screen when I return it is on again.

Have tried turning Grid Peak shaving on and off. Have adjusted my time of use settings so they start and end at 00:00.

Nothing seems to work.

It used to work. The only major changes I've made since then are setting up a generator.... wonder if it's something there that's mucking with it.

Any other suggestions?

Yes, I found it for mine.

There is "Grid peak shaving" on the "System Work Mode" menu page 1....

but there is also "Gen peak shaving" on the "Advanced Settings" ->Advanced Func page 1.

That was "on" for me (probably because I was mucking about getting my generator to work) and when I switched it off, "Time of Use" toggle started working again.

Yay!
