May 11, 20224 yr Author thanks guys for the above - just wanted to confirm that if you put 8 x 540w panels on one MPPT = 4320w, then the inverter will only pull 3300w (6600w/2 - 5kw Sunsynk inverter) from that string? Everyone notes voltage is an issue but no one speaks of watt limit per MPPT

May 11, 20224 yr Just now, Himal said: Spoke to Sunsynk - they advised each MPPT will only pull 3300w max That is not true , i know this because i know someone with that exact setup ( 8x540w on one mppt ) and he makes full power from that string . Ideally you want to balance the mppt's with equal amounts of panels but it will definitely still work if you dont.
May 21, 20224 yr Author @Nexuss you were spot on, no watt limit per mppt. System works great with all the panels on one mppt. Thanks for the advise. The installer and Sunsynk had a chat and agreed to try the 8 panels on one string for me.
May 21, 20224 yr Nice , what panels are you running on there ? 4474w/8= 559 watts per panel . Thats very good if its the 540W panels.

May 22, 20224 yr Author @Nexuss it's 545w panels, didn't think it would produce more then 4360w. @PowerUser no specific reason, they initially wired two strings of 4 panels and then had to subsequently make it one string.

February 26, 20233 yr Just to make sure, I also have the sunsynk 5kw inverter and 10 x JA 545w panels... best to do 2 strings of 5 each on the east and west side of the roof?
