July 5, 20224 yr Hi, I seem to be having an issue with my battery bank. I have 3x Pylontech UP5000 hooked up to 2x 5kwH SPF-5000ES and two strings of Solar panels, I seem to have an issue with the third pylontech battery (one on the bottom, furthest away from master battery) All Pylontech batteries are connected to each other and master battery is connected with BMS to my inverters. Every other day (more frequently during loadshedding) it seems my third battery goes into protection mode quite frequently and I'll have to turn it off and on again to get it talking again with the other two batteries. All batteries are grounded and connected properly to one another, any ideas as to what would be causing this?
July 5, 20224 yr Yes its most likely on a different firmware version than the new one which causes issues like this afaik. You need to update the firmware on each battery so that they match.
July 5, 20224 yr the more batteries you have in a bank the more charging/saturation they require to keep top balanced. Do you have enough solar or charging time to fully saturate the batteries?

July 6, 20224 yr Is the battery possibly going into high voltage alarm? What is the max battery charge voltage? 52.5V is normally a safe setting for this

Make the bottom battery to be a master and see if you will still get the same problem. Check your dip switches and your comms/link port cables, confirm that link port 0 on the master battery has nothing connected to it
