Pylontech battery won't switch on

Featured Replies

Hello.

I had a Pylontech UP5000 that got discharged untill it when into alarm mode last night but now it's not charging. I'm using a Koda5kva VMIII inverter. Is there a way to switch the battery back on.

Thank you.

I had the same thing before with my 3.5kwh battery it would not switch on but the next day it charged up with solar power and switched on only when the battery exceeded 10% state of charge.

I didn't know that the batteries can charge when they are off. Did you use a separate charger or your inverter doesn't need the battery to power on? Most inverters uses the battery to power ON and if the battery is OFF, there is no way of using them to charge unless you have a separate charger

In my case I did not switch the battery off I just left it to investigate the next day what the problem was. I had a clone Axpert MKS2 4KW inverter without comms cable and a pylontech US3000. The battery must of ran down below the minimum SOC because the inverter did not want to switch back on. Initially I thought the inverter might be faulty. The next morning about 09h00 when I went to investigate the system was on again and busy charging the battery. If I recall this probably happened about 3 times in a 12 month period. So I use to just leave it and the next day it would come on again.
