Bowsie
Hi, A question more out of curiosity. Why is the internal wiring in a combiner box always Solar Cable and not just standard, equivalent 4,6,or 10mm2 normal copper cable? Is this due to regulation? Would using standard copper create a problem somehow? Bowsie
Sidewinder
DC is not AC?

Usually AC has to be thicker because of skin effect, not that there is much to worry about at a low 50hz and your average domestic power levels. I suspect it has to do with where combiner boxes might be installed. Probably just easier to use the higher-spec cable and know you're safe.
